Had to pay $150 instead of $99 for the service I wanted. I
am not a happy camper. The SPOT itself works fine. It's the
price change I do not like. I bought the item thinking I
would pay X amount and it turned out to be Y.

Nice compact unit that comes with a wristband case that can
easily be worn on arm, clipped to belt, or can get RAM
Mount for ATV, motorcycle, or snowmobile. I prefer the
wristband case because it is always with the person. The
SPOT 2 (second generation) has flip up tabs over the SOS
and HELP buttons to prevent accidental engagement. Lighter
than SPOT 1 (first generation) unit. Can do your own OK and
Custom messages to send to up to 10 email addresses you
choose. Can also register pertinent medical information for
SOS messages. Our ATV Club owns one of these units and
brings it along on all rides for safety and also has a link
to the tracking on the club website so other members not on
the ride can see where the group is. People at SPOT very
helpful if you call them with any questions. This unit is
good to have and not need, than to need and not have!

I really like it and I feel safe going on hikes with it,
since i am always alone with only my dog.
