| Don't know how my mount broke (fractured ring). It was not
from over tightning and the ball was not exposed to being
knocked off! I prefer the ring profile over the U-bolt
version but installation is tedious on handle bars - must
remove parts to slip over bar. Would be nice to have a
flexible rubber clamp system (dont really like the tyrap
style either). | |

| I bought several of these to mount on boat rails / handlebars
in location where I sometimes want to mount a GPS. Its easy to
add some backing (tape / piece of EPDM, etc) to make a good
fit so I've been able to mount in lots of places. | |

| I have this mount installed side way (screw pointing to the
sky)on the stem of my bicycle with front suspension. The
plastic mount near the neck of the ball broke on a big bump
while it was holding my 1.2lbs Garmin GPS.
I am going to buy this item again because it is very handy
on the bike with other RAM mount add-on. Just be careful to
not stretch the plastic too much. It is only plastic! | |
