Here's some recent Garmin Nuvi 5000 reviews:
Dougie October 24, 2009	At this price I assume they are reconditioned units. My unit was $800.00 US and it was not worth it. After a year I sent it back because it continued to have problems locating a satellite. Garmin sent me a reconditioned unit that quit working within a month. On checking the software I noticed there were so many updates available I could not believe Garmin would ship a unit out when it was so out of date. Be careful if purchasing this unit. New software seems to have helped.
Harley John September 23, 2008	I had one of the original gpsmap units mounted on the dash of my Ultra. Never had a problem. I kept a clear plastic shower cap (with the elastic band) handy in case of rain. Never had a problem with water getting on it. Garmin does make the zumo specifically for bikes. I played with one in the Garmin store in Chicago this weekend but my eyes aren't what they used to be and I'm sure digging the big screen on this one.

Spice July 5, 2008	Anyone know how the Canadian mapping is? Can you update maps? It says you can't add maps.
