For the price, this unit is fine. It can get you where you
need to go, though not always by the most direct or quickest
route. For routes I travel frequently, I have found the
directions very strange. The traffic feature is also pretty
worthless (at least in Ottawa). It consistently announces
"Traffic ahead" when there isn't a car in sight, and ignores
gridlock. Not sure how often the traffic is updated, but
clearly not very often. If it is adjusting routes based on
traffic, then I really worry. This may work better in larger
cities. Not sure. I do really like the bluetooth, which
works flawlessly and is alone worth the price of admission.
Don't get a unit without bluetooth, especially with
increasing number of jurisdictions that ban hand-held cell
phone use.

This unit works great...for the money it performs well.
Some confusion on the lifetime map update...Garmin site
only indicates lifetime traffice update.

Thanks GPS CITY CANADA for shipping the unit so fast, The
Garmin Nuvi 1390 has good maps and good graphics. The audio,
however, is very poor quality and hard to understand some
street names were not pronounced correctly. I used it in
Montreal for one weekend and got lost a few times.

It works! Although I've only used it for a couple trips, it
worked just fine. Would be nice to be able to customize the
screen layout a little more - standard option settings are
available, but for example, I don't want to see 'Elevation'
and cannot simply turn it off. But hey, it works.
