| This is definitely not the typical application for this
product. I wanted a permanent mount stand alone GPS solution
to enhance the capabilities of the Uniden XT type scanner
this all in one was the perfect solution. I built my own
power supply and serial cable because I needed something
more robust but for what it is, it does the job exceedingly
well. | |

| We have just recently purchased several pcs of the model
MR350P. We have tested two of them and at least one was not
able to lock on. We are using the GPS receivers to acquire
the Atomic time for our products. Unfortunately our
engineering did not have time yet to determine what exactly
went wrong, but the setup for the good and the bad GPS was
identical. We will test again them at the nearest opportunity | |

| I bought it for a permanent installation on the roof of my
truck. It comes with an intermediate connector that looks
like a PC mouse connector and you have to add a USB-
terminated, or a serial connector-terminated short cable
from GloblSat to connect to your omputer. The new-
generation chip set used in the receiver is great. Sees 20
satellites, locks on instantly. Comes with a simple utility
software to test the receiver. For use with a USB port, you
have to install a Serial-to-USB driver. The driver worked
well on my laptop with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. | |

| This the 3rd gps receiver I purchased to test out on my RV.
First I tested it on my laptop inside the house using MS
Streets and Strips 2010 and MapPoint 2010, I was suprised
it picked up the sigmal and show the location of my house.
I started to get excited with this product and I decided to
mount it on the roof of my RV. The installation was so easy
and simple. This gps receiver did not required any virtual
com. port driver like usb version. This receiver has fast
warm up by the time the windows boot up completely this
gps receiver is ready to receive signal. The product I got
somehow does not have the name printed on the receiver like
other websites have shown. I will be more please if it has
the GlobatSat name on. The product should include optional
cable for serial port for PC for a bit more money is ok for
me. The price was right for me at this website and the
service was fast, great and polite. I would recommend other
people to visite this store. | |
