Da Frenchie January 12, 2010	Bought this lanyard to keep my GPS around my neck and inside my jacket while I'm out bush wacking and/ or winter camping. After browsing and shopping some more, I've decided to get a 5/8" to 3/4" wide lanyard bright orange or yellow which will also be reflective and with a clip allowing you to take the unit of the lanyard without having to take the lanyard from around your neck all the time. As I mentioned, this one suits the purpose until you find better (such as a reflective one). That way, you're increasing your odds in finding your "investment" on the ground if you ever dropped or lost it.
LoneCoyote December 17, 2009	I also had a long lanyard on my GPSMAP76, but lost signal as the connecting point was on bottom of unit. My GpsMap60Cx hangs properly when I tuck unit inside my coat to protect it from the elements and heavy brush. This length allows me to quickly pull out the unit to check my position when traversing new territory, rather than pulling up my coat tail and unzipping the case to pull out the unit.
