| I bought two of these to replace my recently defunct Ambicom
USB GPS, which was an outstanding, durable and inexpensive
USB GPS receiver. Highly accurate, weatherproof,
ultra-stable. the Holux GR 213 is all of those things,
though it DOES cause my laptop to hang or BSOD once or twice
every couple of days. It also overheats (I'm working in the
Mohave Desert) and has to be reset, occasionally. The
Ambicom never did this.
Sadly, Ambicom no longer makes the USB-GPS or any similar
model. The Holux is an acceptable substitute, though I miss
my Ambicom which worked in all weather, every day for five
years. | |

| Excellent WAAS capable unit. This is my 2nd unit. Using it
in an airplane. | |

| I'm using XP Pro. The GPS programs find the antenna fast, good
signal. I have a couple different brands but prefer the Holux,
the Blue Tooth model is great too. | |
