EXCELLENT GPS UNIT

Pros: good price, easy to set up, large clear display.

I had previously had a TomTom One for several years. When that was stolen it gave me the opportunity to upgrade to a newer model. The GO 720 seemed a great choice at a great price. It installed easily and I found I could mount it on the dashboard using the adhesive disc. Recently did a long road trip where it was very useful. I especially like the expanded lane view when you approach a complicated interchange. The display is very clear. Set up over blue tooth for my phone was also very easy. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

REPLACEMENT GPS

This is the second Tom Tom GO 720 and is a replacement of the same model I had and stolen. I find it very easy to use with many functions including pairing with my smartphone.

TOMTOM GO 720

A very satisfying car GPS. In addition to being a GPS it is hands-free phone connector using blue-tooth and a music player. The music can be stored on an SD card and played through the car's radio.

The only negative is that the pre-loaded map is over 2 years old, and TomTom will not give you a current one. You can always buy new one for $s. There is also an enthusiastic user community with good tips and goodies to share.

NICE UNIT - BUT MAPS SUCK

My 8 year old Magellan map was more accurate than this one. I even went and paid for a new map and it was no better. When I go to a street address it is usually 1/2 KM away from where TomTom said it was. Why do they want us to send them corrections for the maps? Shouldn't they do that?

The unit isn'd bad, but sometimes I had to plug it into my computer to reboot it because it wouldn't turn on.

I bought a new Garmin and gave the TOMTOM away.

GOOD GPS FOR THE CAR

Pros: ease of use, size
Cons: maps out of date

GPS works well in most cases. As usual the maps are always at least a year or more behind the actual roads. all GPS units I have had including this one always work better in the U.S than in Canada.

I will recommend this unit to anyone wanting a better than average GPS for their car.

BEST PRICING AVAILABLE

Pros: very clear convenient little item
Cons: touch screen can be sensitive

It's an excellent "toy". Takes you all over, many voices to choose from. Being able to speak to it is very convenient while on the road. The bluetooth option is excellent, we were using a handsfree device...not in any way as good as the bluetooth on this GPS. We have been enjoying it very much. I did a little research on this model and GPS City was the lowest in pricing, thank you for making it available at such a low price compared to the company website itself.

NOT GOOD IN CANADA "EH"

I took it back. In Owen Sound Ontario Canada I did a map test in a 2km x 5km section of the city and found a HUGH amount of errors. It had me going down MANY dead ends. Also, one main city street was not on the map and two streets should have a dead end. All this was in 1/4 of the city. Note: It is a nice unit and works well but the Canadian maps are BAD. I phoned, they know there is a problem with the Canadian maps. If they fix the the map problem I would buy this unit.

THE MERCEDES OF GPS RECEIVERS

This GPS really looks cool. With it's thin, sleek, black finish with silver trim. Nice ! The 400 MHz processor is very fast at route calculation. The unit is VERY easy to use and you have all the features you want and need readily at hand. They gave me the latest map version for free. I just downloaded it using the nice TomTom Home Software and now I am at 710. It is a large download at 1.7GB, but adds quite a bit of detail to your maps. The SD card slot is handy and you can add any SD card as long as it is not high capacity ( HD ) type. I put in a 4GB 150X Transcend card that is not HC and it works great giving me plenty of room for music and photos along with my maps. The MapShare feature of the TomTom unis is a really nice feature that competitors don't have and it a really cool community that let's you receive and send map updates from your unit through the TomTom Home Software. Very nice feature. If you want to own a really nice GPS with excellent looks, good maps, rich feature set, and great PC software to keep your unit up to date, then this is the one. I highly recommend it.
