NEW GPS

I waited and waited for this to be released. I checked GPS City very day for a date mine would be shipped. I almost selected another but I'm glad I waited. It seems much faster than my other one which was less than a year old and got stolen. This is a huge jump up although I miss the audio player on the other one. This is well worth the price, I think. And the traffic is great, too--almost forgot!

GARMIN AC POWER SUPPLY WITH 3 ADPATER PLUGS

Perfect power supply (PS) to start you off with the added adapter plugs for when you go travelling outside North America.

This PS has a much longer length than the PS offerred with the double cables.

Here is the actual measurement of the cable between conector and supply: 58 in (147.32 cm)

HAPPY WITH UK MAPS

The Garmin UK Maps chip took a lot of stress out of our vacation. It had even the smallest, most back roads loaded, so even when we thought we were lost we were able to find our way without too much hassel. If we missed an exit it was quick to recalculate and get us back on track. It was extremely handy when we went into Northern Ireland where the speed limits are in miles, not kilometers. Our rental car only had kilometers and the GSP was able to provide a converted speed into kilometers so i would know how fast to go. It is also nice that it is programed for more than one country. I look forward to using it on my next trip. Also saved us a ton of money having to rent a GPS unit through the car rental company

Pros: knew even the smallest roads, not just main ones
Cons: wish it could have had an irish accent to talk in

THE APPROACH S1 DOES IT'S THING WELL

I've taken the S1 to a few different golf courses and it's performed like a Swiss watch with no problems. The unit has been pretty much spot on with the golf course yardages. It's helped me with my new clubs and hitting distances when approaching a green. You will still have to factor in how high or low a green is relative to where you're making a shot from. Some comments about the charger may be due to it takes a few seconds to start charging even when connected correctly.

Pros: easy to use.
Cons: none if you really understand what it can do.

ISSUE RESOLVED

I initially reviewed this unit and noted a problem with connecting the unit to my computer. The problem was my fault because I was plugging the power/data cable into the connectionon the mounting base apparently port this only provides power. The unit connected to my computer and the internet perfectly when I plugged into the port on back of the GPS unit. Please disregard the problem noted in Review #2.

ZUMO 550 CRADLE

I like that it is aluminum, I like that it is black. The connections are easy. My suggestion is: buy the piece offered to perfectly match your Zumo... the RAM piece. This saves you frustration trying to figure where to put the screws.

And..ALWAYS keep a zip lock baggie around. When you wash your ride, PROTECT YOUR SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS. Remember..no glove, no love.

IMPRESSED

Just tried it out this weekend and am very impressed! Went in the backcountry on some rough roads and it held gps device nice and secure! Solid contraption, good quality materials and it looks great in the vehicle! Would recommend this device to anyone whose going off-roading....Get it!!!

GARMIN MONTANA SCREEN PROTECTOR

These protectors don't stand up as well as the Zagg ones do, but they still do a pretty good job. Also, they go on a lot easier than the Zagg style, and are a lot cheaper.
