really good unit...upgraded from 3590....best feature is the new advanced lane guidance.....I recently handled LA traffic like I had been there for 40 years....(that was my first time in that part of LA, I am from Dallas).....

SURE BEATS THE WINDSHIELD MOUNTS!

Having used the windshield suction mounts for five years and having my Nuvi fall off the windshield because that type of mount can have issues was the reason for my change. This Non Skid Suction Mount just takes away all those issues. Recently it became a safety issue while I was driving and was time for a change. I'm very happy with the Non Skid Suction Mount and don't have to worry about it falling off the windshield anymore

NICE UNIT

This is a nice unit. I have used Garmin Legend and Vista GPS's in the past. The ability to add maps to this unit makes it a fantastic addition to my collection of GPS's. It boots fast, locks onto satellites fast, and holds the satellite lock better than the older units I've used. The electronic compass works very well and is my favorite part of this unit. No matter which way the gps is held in the hand, the maps always orient to the direction I'm facing. If you always like to have maps with North up instead of your Heading up this may not matter to you.

Pros: fast boot, electronic compass, ability to add maps
Cons: not as user friendly as past garmin gps units.

AWESOME GPS!

A really nice upgrade from my NUVI 750. I love the voice command function - it's really easy to operate. The speed is much faster than any of my previous Garmin GPS's as well. Easy to see the screen even in bright sunlight.

A FIX AND THIS DEVICE WOULD BE OUTSTANDING.

I've had this device for over a month, load time, reception, total functionality, ease of use, traffic, up ahead, working with my iPhone 5, speed limit indicator, directions and just about everything else works perfectly. BUT, the Bluetooth for my iPhone 5 calling is just terrible, can't hear the other party, they can't hear me, just not good at all. My 10 year old NUVI worked great with my iPhone 5. Garmin needs to fix this default and then the unit would be OUTSTANDING.

Pros: everything is great with the unit.
Cons: the bluetooth calling is terrible.

FM SIGNAL WORKS WELL

I bought this even though the digital ("HD") traffic signal isn't available here in Canada but I figured it'd be future-proof, and useful on trips to the US. So, so far I only got the chance to try the the old signal, which works well. It doesn't tell you about "normal", everyday traffic jams and slowdowns, but does tell you about major ones due to accidents, or roads and bridges closed for construction etc.

I'll probably post a new review once I've tried it on HD signal but so far so good.

Pros: works out of the box, does what it's supposed to
Cons: no hd traffic in canada (not garmin's fault!)
Recommend: YES

BIRDSEYE IMAGERY

Nice as an overlay for the 24K topo maps. I would have given it a 5 but it is a pain to babysit the downloads which take a long time and have a tendency to crash. Still worth the $30 IMO and nice once you have images on your GPS. If you don't have an SD card you will not be able to get much coverage onto your GPS.

AFTER 6 OTHER GARMINS

They just keep getting better. If my 3 year old previous Garmin had not been stolen, I would now be missing all the added value of this new unit. Samantha is wonderful.

STURDY GPS MOUNT

Used on a 93 Katana 600. Replaces the screws for the brake reservoir. GPS does suffer some pretty bad vibrations from the bike. All in all a great product for the price.

BAD IDEA

It took far to much time to assemble the device. Then once assembled there insufficient friction to hos my IPad in place - it kept rotating downward all by itself.

I returned the unit for credit and recommend that you not waste the assembly time

Took on trip to Netherlands and Germany.

Excellent at keeping us on the right direction. Color of routeshowed if you were ok. Fairly up to date for Europe, only had 2 new overpasses that it did not recognize.

GOOD PRODUCT

It was very easy to find the good and buy it. However, due to the logistic where I live it is impossible to know exactly when it will come and the time frame they give us was not "correct". I high recommend you use a more expensive shipping and be 100% of the delivery than use the low cost and wait forever. I was told that there are times where the good takes 7 weeks. Low cost, never again. By the way, I'm from Brazil.

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

The unit comes with the most basic map, you have to buy garmin maps to make it useful, while it nice to be able to download satellite images at extra cost, don't expect google maps quality. Difficult to read in bright sunlight, and instruction manual is not very good.

Pros: touch screen, rugged, accurate.
Cons: small low resolution screen, poor instructions

CAPABLE UNITS
