VERY USEFUL
Pros: added reach horizontally.
Cons: adds height vertically.
It's a great way to get a little more reach from you mount if you have a wide center console. But as I have a car, with the quick disconnect mount I have had to cut my telescopic pole down the about 2" long, otherwise the laptop would almost block my rear-view-mirror.
Recommend? YES
