WORKS PERFECT FOR GAS TANK BOLT MOUNT TOO!

Used this on my 2003 VFR gas tank mount bolts. Perfect fit with only a small amount of filing to line up the mounting holes. Works great!

BARELY WORKS

The mount hardly grips to my handlebars. After a few bumps, I find the mount starting to swivel around the handlebar (while my phone is attached). I have tightened the mount as humanly possible, to the point of temporary loss of feeling by pinching the nerves in my finger. It works, but not as well as other RAM mounts I own.

Pros: just barely works

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

This mount surpassed my expectations. Very strong and much more flexible than I imagined.

The only problem was with the mounting screws. They were machine screws, not wood screws. I had to go out and get the proper screws. Perhaps including both kinds of screws in the package would be a good idea.

NOT AS ADVERTISED

I ordered my mount and paid for it plus shipping on-line. The item was NEVER delivered to my house. I had to go to the post office to pick it up. GPS City did NOT pay for the full shipping amount. I had to pay additional shipping charges at the post office........ The item DOES NOT fit all handlebars without modification. I put this mount on a 18in Kona MTN bike, but was not able to put it close to the center of the handlebars. The mount was too small. I was able to mount it near the outside of the handlebars or the end next to the grip. JUST clears the shifter components. MAKE SURE you measure your handlebars PRIOR to ordering to make sure it will fit wear you want. The mount also does NOT fit a taper in the handlebars of any kind. I will say the the on-line price is fair and even having to pay for the additional shipping, .48 cents, the price is still fair. The inconvenience of the drive to the post office is not.

WORKS OK, BUT COULD BE BETTER

I purchased two for mounting Icom HTs on our quads with a Ram quick release. Worked fine for the quad with independent suspension all around. One the quad with a swing arm the radio would pop out after about an hour of riding. I had secured a lanyard so we didn't lose the radio and just popped it back in the mount. It started coming out again after another hour of riding. Solution will be to add some velcro to the mount and radio, plus a wire tie around the bottom of the radio. Someone using this on a dirt bike off road would probable run into the same issues.

Pros: better than any other solution available.
Cons: doesn't grip that well for rough use.

DOESN'T HOLD TIGHT

I use this mount for a handheld CB mounted to the handlebars of my motorcycle. The grip of the "fingers" to the CB seem tight until I hit around 55 mph. The wind pushed the CB right out of the mount. Luckily, I caught it. I now use the mount with a zip strip around the CB/mount to hold it in place. It works fine like this but prevents you from popping out the CB.

This is what I was looking for a long time ago. I am glad I found the link to this site when I googled "iPad mount". The cup holder mount is sturdy and made of quality materials. It wiggles a little bit when the vehicle is in motion but over all the item is well-built.

I showed it to my brother-in-law and my friend and they both like the RAm mount iPad Holder. They said my set-up looks better than the cops! haha

SORRY CANT RECOMMEND THIS ONE

Every product I have ever owned from RAM has been first class. GPS City is a first class retailer. I just cant recommend this item. The magnet to metal plate attachment is just not very strong. If you are going to use this YOU MUST also secure it to the base with a velcro strap, rubber band, or O-Ring as any kind of bump will detach your item. I am using a Beltronics RX65 and no way will it hold strong enough. The universal finger mount with velcro in the base would be a better choice. Sorry RAM, you missed on this one.

USED ON DROID BOINIC MOTORCYCLE MOUNT

I have a Droid Boinic with an OtterBox rubber cover. Combined with the X-Grip I have a solid mount to use on my motorcycle. 500mi ride and the phone never moved. Phone is easy to install and remove.

The phone needs to sit off to one side to avoid pressing the volume buttons, but I am able to place the phone in a position that allows use of a phone charger and keep from pressing the volume controls. Perfect to use my phone as my GPS unit when needed.

Only problem is that while the phone is installed, I can rotate the arms (and rotate the phone). This could easily be remedied if RAM would tie the 4 arms together with little gears internally. Not a big deal... Since my phone sits off to the side in the mount, I just rotated the mount slightly so that the phone sits level when in place, so the phone doesn't rotate while riding.

I highly recommend for a motorcycle rider to mount their phone! '07 VTX1800 Tourer

LONG ARM B-SOCKET

I ordered the standard GPS mount with a three inch connection for my motorbike. While test driving I realized it was very difficult to look down at the GPS. I then ordered this item which moved the GPS up and closer to my line of view. It is a very good addition the standard mount. UNIVERSAL MOUNT WORKS WELL WITH SMALL MOD

Purchased to hold a bb 8520 its just a little big for a fairly small phone. Also had to cut a small notch out of the back of the left side clamp to accommodate the power cord. After that it worked great until I had to replace my phone! It works pretty good though and so far quality seems good

UNIVERSAL MOUNT

Great item. I bought one of the first ones they had and use it instead of any others I had. My only caution is to make sure the centre bolt is tightened down. After first using the mount, I removed my phone to find circular scratches all over the back of the phone case. The screw had damaged the case as it wasn't tightened all the way into it's recessed hole. Other than that, it hasn't let me down. I even use it on my motorcycle.

PERFECT GPS FOR ME!

Having several hobbies and the need to have or use a GPS for them was getting a bit hard to do with just using my iPhone to navigate with. Now I can get into my truck drive to the river, drop-in my kayak, do a few geocaches, and get on my motorcycle and use just one GPSr for all of that was great. RAM MOUNT MEDIUM ARM REALLY GRIPS

RAM is the best. Adjust the arm, tighten the knob with little effort and it will stay solid until you decide to move it. The height is good. I have it on a RAM ball between the handle bars of my ST1300. I still have access to my key ignition. Unfortunately, the only way to lock it is with a big plastic thingy with key that goes over the handle itself but that is an extra pay-for option. I may fabricate something on my own or use some big black zip ties to use as a deterrent until I figure something out. Don't want to have to uninstall it every time I get off the bike.

Pros: solid, holds very well.

I LIKE IT

These RAM mounts feel "cheesy" when you get them out of the box but they have all held up well for me. I have only put a few hundred miles my motorcycle with the ram mount for the GPSMAP 62, but it has held up very well on the trails and dirt roads. It looks like the power cord will plug right in with out taking the unit out of the mount. I'm glad I got it. The tab at the bottom of the mount is a little close to the bottom buttons, so if you have really big fingers or bulky gloves on that might be an issue but not a bad one.

DOESN'T PROVIDE UNIVERSAL HOLD

I use this in 2 different vehicles: a 1995 Saturn and a 1997 Ford Ranger. It works just fine in the Saturn because the cup holders are a normal depth and fully enclosed. It doesn't work so well in the Ranger because the cup holders are half-depth and have an opening at the front from cup handles. As a result, there isn't much for the rubber wings to hang onto. I'm temporarily jamming it between the seats in the Ranger until I find a better solution. By the way, I don't consider that to be a flaw of the Ram-A-Can: It was designed to fit in real cupholders. If you have a pseudo-cupholder, it might not work so well.

Note: This thing is heavy...probably about 2-3 pounds. Despite its plastic-and-rubber outside, it is full of metal or lead to add weight.

There are two small dimples in the top plastic that show you exactly where to put the screws for use with a diamond plate.

Pros: heavy, sturdy in full length cupholders
Cons: won't work well half or partially open holder

I use the universal cradle to hold my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0. It's not obvious by the picture, but it's the top fingers that are spring loaded and move up and down. Because the side fingers are adjustable, I was able to easily adjust them so that all buttons were accessible on my SGP5. In fact, I would be comfortable with just one set of side fingers on the cradle. That's more than enough for use in my car...it still requires 2 hands to get it out of the cradle.

HANDY BUT EXPENSIVE

I bought this to connect two arms (duh!) so that I could utilize the arms I already have rather than buying an extra long one. I use it to hold my MP3 player in the universal cradle. Having 2 arms connected by this rather than just one allows me to position it more to my liking.

Pros: handy. put multiple, shorter arms back in use

MOTORCYCLE GPS MOUNTING KIT

It took five minutes to mount the GPS on my 2008 Nomad. It is a great product and will stand up to many years of service. It can be adjusted with one hand while you are on the move. The GPS can be easlily removed when you leave the bike. GPSCITY provided great no hassle service and timely shipping. Everything came well packaged in two days.

GOOD BASIC GPS CRADLE

Cradle works very well with my Nuvi 550. However I have to connect my charging cord before installing the GPS into cradle.When installing it into the cradle I have to place the top in first then snap in the bottom so power cord does not get damaged.Yes its a garmin power cord.

Pros: nice snug fit/good price
Cons: it's difficult to connect the charging cord.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

These products have always been solid for me. Whether it's - 30C or +30C, quad or snowmobile, it's never slipped around. It's always remained where ever I put it. The GPS has never fallen out of its cradle.

Used this in conjunction with a long arm socket and another ball mount on marine chart plotter. U bolt mounts to hand rail near helm....extention positions gps at helm...no drilling required.....nice and solid.

The plate basically does the job. However, the item I had monted on it was a bit heavy and tended to sink when I hit bumps.

RAM MOUNT FOR AQUA BOX

Worked well but realy needed frequent tightening when I hit bumps in the road. Developing a clasp that will further limit it's movement would help.

THUMBS UP FOR QQUA BOX

I recently mounted the box on my vintage motorcycle. With GPS and cellular phone secured by the foam, supplied by RAM, I rode over 1000 miles. I encountered rain, cool temperatures, and high heat al in the same trip. No problems. No leaks. I was even able to use the touch screen function on my GPS through the plastic cover that comes with the box. I highly recommend the Aqua Box.

Pros: waterproof, big enough for electoronics
Cons: heavy and sometimes loosened when bumped.

60C SERIES ZINC U-BOLT RAIL MOUNT

excellent mount ,better than the plastic one I had which cost me the same price as this one.Have it mounted on my ATV and it handles the rough trails with no problems .
