WORKS IN CIGARETTE / ACCESSORY SOCKETS
Pros: adjustable should fit both size a and size b
I was looking for a way to move the XM radio antenna farther away from my Garmin GPS on my Kawasaki Concours because of signal interference. For the location I most wanted it, in the gap between the mirror and the windscreen, I didn't really have any good options. But I did have an accessory socket just inside the console which I almost never use.
Searches for mounts based on "cigarette" or "accessory socket" weren't turning up anything, but in browsing the full list of mounts I spotted this. Checked the dimensions and it seemed like it would work -- and it does! I attach an arm to it which connects to a RAM-B-347U AMPS Plate screwed to the RAM-344U Satellite Radio Antenna Plate.
I'm a little surprised that the mount isn't advertised as being suitable for that type of socket since it fits so well. Easy to remove too if I actually do want to use the socket, just take a Phillips head screwdriver and back it out a few turns.

DOES THE JOB FOR ME
Pros: price, simple to install. looks good on bike. Cons: not as solid as a metal mount.
I used this mount to install a GPS on my Honda VFR and CBR motorcycles. It fits snugly in the hollow steering stem on these bikes. Since it is a composite mount, it has a bit of flex once the GPS is mounted. Considering the vibration of a motorcycle this might be a good thing. Simple and does the job for the GPS. For a video camera on a bike, might not be steady enough.

Got this to mount my video camera on my kayak in one of the rod holder mounts. Works great, secure and easy to install

WORKS, BUT COULD BE BETTER
Pros: quick easy to mount, no drilling required. Cons: a little play near top of shaft, not rock steady.
I used this on a kayak to attach a 3 place holder to a flush mount. The ball will hold any accessory with a ram rod but the shaft once tightened down still has a little play near the top of the shaft. Its a quick fix if you want to use an exisiting flush mount, but not rock steady like a screwed on ball mount.
