BEST MOUNTING ACCESSORIES/PARTS
Cons: could use a set screw and mirror mount clips shoul
provides for a very secure and out of the way option to mount a GPS or almost any other accessories in most vehicles Works well with most vehicles that have the old style rearview mirror mount

RUGGED MOUNTING SYSTEM
Pros: all good Cons: nothing so far
Were testing one of these units for a couple months in hopes of outfitting a fleet of Trucks with them. Being in California we have crazy vehicle laws and one of them is no Suction Cup devises are allowed on windshields and you can’t even hold a cellular device in your hands while operating a vehicle, even if you a hands free connection. Now that California is completely broke, were seeing more and more Fix It tickets being issued. (In this state you still get to pay the fine and penalties) We upgraded our mobile phones the first of the year to EVO’s and we wanted a mount that could handle the abuse our guys put equipment through, coupled with off road conditions our trucks travel on. This mount coupled with the SlipGripRamHolder for the Otterbox Defender, (sold through Ebay only) truly has been the ticket in our test truck. As mount you cannot go wrong. Easily adjusted and locked down when needed. The 3" center post on the unit brings the phone to directly under a Ford F250/F350 rear view mirror. You do get some vibration but that’s to be expected in a truck with an extension mount like this.
I also like the fact that these mount system comes with adapters for Motorcycles and even bikes. I can see this as a handy tool for mountain biking, utilizing the Evos GPS system.
Well give it two more months before a fleet conversion, but so far so good. Two Thumbs Up.

2000 JEEP CHEROKEE
Pros: i like it and will get another one!!! Cons: none for this part
I searched all types of mounts for My Gpsmap60csx Garmin unit. I tried a suction mount, but it would not hold..I found this unit ordered it. It fits great, and has lots of position options.. I mounted it in My 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport.I am going to buy the mirror mount part for My GM van so I can transfer it to it also...only issue is the cradle for my garmin is too tight and hard to remove. I modified mine...

AWESOME MOUNT
Pros: very solid, easy to install on toyotas
The mount is very solid and was pretty easy to install on my Toyota Matrix.I use it to mount my iPhone 3G. I I used a video app on my phone to make a short video while driving to show how solid the mount is. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRNsGB87iIw

VERY COVIENANT
Pros: mirror flops around and shakes over bumps Cons: very good idea for mounting devices
My mirror flops around when mounted on the ram mount. Not sure if it was not formed properly or not. I want a new one. Will be incontact with GPS City

INSTALLED ON 2007 FORD F150 - THE GOOD AND BAD
Pros: good solid permanent mounting location Cons: no assembly/disassembly instructions for mirror
Purchased this unit to mount my Garmin Nuvi 265WT in my 2007 Ford F150 Supercrew Lariat. Here's a few comments on the install and use of the mount. (For the record, I have used several different versions of the RAM mounts in all my vehicles for several years - I'm familiar with the RAM line)
First the "Bad" No instructions on how to remove the Ford factory mirror from the windshield to install the new mount. After an extensive search on the internet, I finally found an article with pictures and instructions. Removal requires insertion of a 1/8" blade screwdriver to depress a clip in the factory mirror while moving the assembly back and forth. Not very intuitive. Took me about 10 minutes to remove - being carful not to damage the windshield. Why can't RAM include mirror removal directions (and a picture or two) with the product? It is NOT very straightforward without info/pics/etc. It is a great product....give us some help...
Now for some "Good"..
Once I was able to remove the mirror from the factory location, the Mirror Mate fit very nicely onto the factory tab on the windshield. Tighten it down with the supplied set screw and it's rock solid.
My Ford factory mirror has the small box attached to the mirror that houses the compass box. The Mirror Mate mount does NOT contact the compass box, however, it does somewhat limit the ability to rotate the arm fully forward. My Garmin 265WT sits in a good location under the mirror.
It does NOT appear that the compass box is affected by the installation of the GPS unit directly under the box, nor does the GPS unit seem to be affected by the compass box. The compass reads "true" with the GPS on.
Installation of the factory Ford mirror is pretty straightforward - it slides onto the "new" tab on top of the Mirror Mate. Now another gripe - I'm not sure this one is directed towards RAM/Mirror Mate, but more towards the engineers at Ford who designed the factory mirror clip. Once I got everything installed, took it for a test drive. The image in the Ford mirror is shaking around like a 10 year old after drinking 3 Red Bulls....Unacceptable. There is no provision to "tighten" up the Ford factory mirror on the Mirror Mate mount (again, any support/instructions/guidance from RAM???) After spending another hour tinkering around (remove/reinstall mirror...), I was able to find two small strips of plastic that I placed between the the Ford factory mirror base and the Mirror Mate mount to get the "shakes" out of the mirror image while driving.
Operation of the GPS unit while attached to the mount/arm assembly is solid. It holds the GPS firmly - you can use the "touch" screen on the GPS without the unit moving around.
Overall, I'm happy with the product - it provides a solid mount for the GPS in a "permanent" location. RAM makes good stuff. However, it would be nice to have some instructions on diasssembly/reassembly/troubleshooting of the mount. I find it hard to believe that my issues with the shaky mirror image are isolated based on the design of the Ford mirror retaining clip.
