GREAT WAY TO MOUNT A GPS ON A MOTORCYCLE
I wanted this clutch bracket-type mount for my GPS instead of the typical U-bolt handlebar mount as I thought it looks more factory. Strong mount and works very well on my Harley.

PERFECTO
Pros: solid, good value, outs the gps where i want it Cons: none
I have a large old school Garmin 2720 mounted on this base. It is good and solid at speed, and has over 8000 trouble-free miles on it. The GPS ends up exactly where I want it to be. Excellent price and service from GPS City.

RAM MOUNT FOR GOLDWIN
Pros: good fit Cons: none
I use a Garmin 765T GPS for my Goldwing and this mount fits the left clutch mounting point and clears my drink holder. This at least works for me! I also use the Ram extension and adapter for the GPS and have it connected to my AUX cable so I can hear the turn by turns through my helmet speakers.

MOTORCYCLE PERCH RAM BALL MOUONT
Pros: proper fit Cons: none
This perch went on a 2009 H-D Electra Glide. It fit perfectly and worked on my recent trip exactly as it should. Cost is reasonable, shipping is fast. I will buy another for the other perch.

GREAT CONCEPT HAMPERED WITH POOR PARTS
Pros: good location, elegant concept and design. Cons: poor quality spacers and bolts, easily replaced.
This is a great idea and RAM almost pulls it off. It's hard to tell from the picture of the item that it goes on the outside of the perch clamp - it doesn't replace it. There are a pair of spacers that fit between the RAM mount and the clamp for the master cylinder perch - you replace the stock bolts with a longer pair that go through the RAM mount, through the spacers, through the clamp and snug the whole assembly up to the master cylinder.
The problem is that the spacers are made of plastic and they deform, leaving the bolts somewhat crooked and bound. It's hard getting the master cylinder tight enough without deforming the spacers. Also the bolts provided by RAM are pretty poor quality. I substituted a pair of steel spacers from the hardware store and a pair of stainless steel bolts - the RAM mount works very well with this simple use of better quality parts.

MOTORCYCLE MOUNT - CONCOURS 14
Pros: works very well and is solid. Cons: would prefer a mount in the center of my handlebar
Very good mount that works very well. I actually use this base in combination with the following parts (listed below) in order to fix my Garmin GPSMAP 96C on my motorcycle (Kawasaki Concours 14, year2010) clutch holder/handlebar:
- Medium Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U - Diamond Plate with 1 inch Ball RAM-B-238U - RAM Gps mount #RAM-HOL-GA14U
Fast delivery from GPSCITY. No surprises, everything received as expected. Good job!

IMPROVEMENT NEEDED
Pros: a functional design, easy to install Cons: plastic spacers, mtg bolts should be little longer
The plastic spacers provided collapse and will not allow proper torque. For safety it is very important Goldwing torque specification be applied to handle bar mechanism. These spacers should be metal, aluminum preferred.

BALL BROKE OFF, BAD CASTING
Pros: if it hadn't broke, would have been fine. Cons: bad quality casting broke 2nd time out.
Mounted to my GL1500 just fine, But 2nd time out, my GPS started to sag so I reached up to adjust it, and suddenly had the whole thing in my hand when the ball broke off! At 50mph in twisties, no less! I quickly laid it in my lap until I could stop, nearly dropped the whole thing. You could clearly see a hole in the casting that weakened it and caused it to break. Rather than the return hassle, I drilled a 1/16" hole in both the base and ball, used a 1" nail and JBWeld to fix, it has held so far. We'll see.

RAM MOUNT MOTORCYCLE BASE SINGLE 1 IN. BALL
Pros: easily remove the drink holder and gps holder
I purchased this item for my GPS and a drink holder for my ST1300. It worked out awesome for my 1600 mile ride especially in 104 degree weather. Several bottles of water was used in the drink holder.I actually have two of these one for each side. I used the GPS holder for my garmin nuvi 500 which made finding places much easier.

SPACER WAS TOO TALL
Pros: easy to install Cons: better if extra spacers of different heights
I installed this on the right (brake) side of my 2009 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic. The spacers keep the mount from resting directly on the brake perch clamp. For looks and strength I shaved down the height of the spacers that came with the RAM mount.

SNAPPED IN HALF
Pros: i like the mount idea Cons: broke in half without much stress
Guess the provided spacers and bolts were not the right length or something. As I was tightening it up, the mount cracked in half where the center hole is. Thought it would be a little tougher than that as I was not applying any hard pressure while tightening.

PROPER ADJUSTMENT
Works perfectly. My brake mount angles in so I had to be a little careful to adjust each bolt alternatly. I have mounted a video camera and a full size camera. neither have budged at 75 MPH.

RAM CAMERA MOUNT FOR CBR1100XX
Pros: high quality, fits and works perfectly Cons: better mounting instructions would be nice.
I'm planning a 4K mile trip this summer and wanted a way to record my journey w/o having to worry about camera vibration or constantly adjusting the components. I'd read great reviews in online motorcycle forums of the Ram system. I ordered all the necessary items online and was pleasantly surprised by their quality when they arrived. I've done two shakedown rides of 300 miles each and the Ram performs flawlessly. In fact, I just ordered a mirror system for my Garmin GPS. I haven't tried it yet, but expect the results to be similar. I used thread lock when I mounted the systems and on the threaded male end of the camera mount, cheap insurance to guard against wear and tear on a bike.
