This ball connects to the open hole on the side of the RAM-B-309-1 (single 1'' ball) and is included with the purchase of the RAM-B-309-2 (double 1'' ball).
THE RAM-B-309 BASE:
The RAM 309 Clutch/Brake Motorcycle Bases connect to your handlebar clutch/brake clamp, left or right side, and holds one or two 1'' diameter mounting balls.
The base fits the control clamps on your motorcycle with either standard or metric thread stainless steel bolts, provided in the kit.

My fourth purchase from gpscity. Previous 3 went great and I expect this one will as well. I do feel rather sheepish though. This last week I've been combing the net for a golf GPS.
