CAMERA MOUNT SETUP
Pros: solid, no slippage, easy to install/remove. Cons: uhh...uhh...never mind.
I purchased this item and the Camera Mount Plate RAM-B-202AU to take movies while riding the motorcycle. Just what I needed. It brings the camera up high enough from the handlebars to get well over the dashboard. I can then aim through the windshield straight ahead or swing it off to the side.

A SPORTBIKE NECESSITIY
Pros: provides clearance, stable, numerous angles
I own a Garmin Zumo 550 and I wasn't satisfied with the stock mounting kit Garmin provided. I had clearance issues either with the gas tank or windscreen on my Aprilia RSVR Factory.
This RAM long arm piece fixed everything! No more issues, and I also have the GPS a little closer to my face (good for bad eyes). It's also been stable throughout 6,000 miles of a pounding Italian V-twin.
I ended up buying a second RAM long arm and another mounting kit for my Triumph 675. Now both bikes are GPS capable.

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT!
Pros: held gps firmly in place at the right height. Cons: none.
I purchased this item in preparation for my ride across country while participating in the RFTW (Run For The Wall) an annual ride for the last 23 years from L.A. To Arlington, VA. TO THE Vietnam War Memorial. The short arm I received with my Garmin 665 GPS works fine with my smaller tank bag. I wanted to take my larger (taller) tank bag and needed my GPS raised up above the taller TB. This worked perfectly allowing me to view and manipulate my GPS and still carry all my 'Stuff'. Thanks, great product!

Simply because the perform well, combine to suit the majority of needs (some uses / additional requirements stem simply from discovering how good the system is.

Pros: heavy duty, extremely heave duty Cons: none found
Have the GPS mount for Nuvi 7xx, with 3" arm. Bought this arm to help move my GoPro a little more to center and then realized what I had been missing with the GPS this whole time. The added height is perfect for the GPS as well.
There is slightly more buzz at resting where the whole sled vibrates as well, but once any throttle is given everything is clear as riding in my car.

RAM MOUNT LONG ARM B-SOCKET RAM-B-201U-C
Pros: good reach, does the job, quality materials Cons: gps vibrates more due to length from handlebar.
The universal mount provided with Zumo M/C units is _not_ universal. Fits round handlebars only. Had to buy a mirror mount bracket and then a longer arm since the recommended solution blocks the rear view mirror! A longer ball socket arm is the solution however I also found that rotation is limited when GPS is 90 degrees to the arm so beware. (HEY RAM engineers! If the slots at one of the ball ends was 90 degrees to the other you could rotate your GPS side to side or back a forth a LOT more!) I'm just sayin... :-)
This spring loaded extension arm is expensive, but made to last.
Sales staff product knowledge is limited so do your own research before you purchase. With US dollar now at par, prices are in line with US vendors. Shipping in Canada very fast and reliable via Fedex. Nice free two day upgrade too!

RAISE IT UP!!
Pros: well made. Cons: would like a chrome one like the shorter ones.
I purchased the RAM-B-201U-C to raise my Zumo 550 higher to eye level to keep from looking down and away from the road. It was the perfect addition. Still behind my windshield for protection and now my Zumo is actually in my vision as I look ahead. Just a slight glance down with my eyes without moving my head and I can read my GPS. Mounted to my left side handle bars on a Harley Davidson '09 CVO Ultra Classic.

RAM LONG ARM MOUNT
Pros: length Cons: none
This longer arm did exactly what I needed it to do, and that was to have sufficient length to allow my camera lens to clear the windscreen on my motorcycles. The 3" arm just wasn't quite long enough, but this one works perfectly. I am slightly amazed that the length does not lead to any significant additional vibration in the video from the mounted helmet camera. All things considered, it was an ideal purchase.

RAM LONG ARM B SOCKET
Pros: allows mobility and no need for fixed mount base
We have the Garmin 7200 because it has the biggest viewing screen and we're old. CA doesn't allow it to be attached to the windshield with the suction cup (Plan A)and I don't want it to be permanently on the dashboard. So, to figure out how to the Garmin on the middle divider or in front of the gear shift, this arm became essential to use with a lead filled base. Am very pleased. The Garmin is still mobile.

RAM FOREVER
I bought their mount 5 years ago to mount a GPS in a plane and I never regretted it. The parts I like: you can use their parts to install on different vehicles, I use part for the plane in my car so that way you don't have to buy a whole new setup. Their parts are strong (metal), well designed, easy to assemble and will last long. I recently ordered this part to add a tablet PC in the cockpit and I am very happy with it.

EXCELLENT SOLUTION FOR INCREASED LENGTH
Pros: adjustibility solidarity
I presume there are many instances where 6" is better than 3", including my application. I needed the extra length to get my iPhone up above the steering handle & brake lever on my recumbent tricycle. I was concerned that vibration would be more noticeable with the increased arm length but it has not been an issue. The 6" arm is rock-solid, and has all of the adjustability of the 3" version.
