The RAM Marine Grade Aluminum Mount with Stainless Steel U-Bolt Rail Base consists of the 1'' dia. ball and socket system with RAM Plastic Cradle for the Garmin GPSMAP x76, x78 and x96 Series, including the Garmin GPSMAP 176, 176C, 196, 276C, 296, 376C, 378C and 478C.
BASE DESIGN:
 The RAM-B-231 RAM Mount Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Rail Base has a 1.0 inch diameter Rubber Ball designed to sit at right angles to the mounting rail. The Stainless Steel U-Bolt and nuts included are designed it fit on most motorcycle round handlebars, or any circular rail or pipe with diameter from 3/4 to 1.0 inch.
To mount the rail base, place the top of the base on the rail and then slide the u-bolt around the rail, into the holes in the base top. Now tighten the screws onto the u-bolt until the base is clamped firmly. If you desire, you can now slot the black rubber covers over the exposed ends of the u-bolt.
NOTE: This base is completely rust proof.
For Larger Rail Mounting:
For a larger rail, you can purchase the RAM Mount Stainless Steel Large Rail U-Bolt for circular rails with diameter up to 1.25 inches.
ARM DESIGN:
The Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Standard Length Double Socket Arm is 3.0'' long when measured between socket centers.
CRADLE DESIGN:
The RAM-HOL-GA7 High Strength Plastic Cradle is designed to hold the Garmin GPSMAP x76, x78 and Aviation x96 Series of GPS which includes, and is not limited to, the following GPS units,

- Garmin GPSMAP 276C
- Garmin GPSMAP 376C
- Garmin GPSMAP 378
- Garmin GPSMAP 478
- Garmin GPSMAP 196 (Aviation GPS)
