SOLID MOUNT, EASY INSTALLATION
Pros: solid mount, easy installation Cons: none so far
I installed this mount during my lunch. Installation only took about 20 minutes. The mount is really solid and doesn't move a bit. I do mostly street and dirt road riding so I can't say how it will handle on trails. I like it so much I am purchasing a new ball mount and cradle for my Garmin Nuvi 1300. One note: if you don't have a 12v outlet, you may want to purchase one with the mount.

OUTSTANDING MOUNT
Pros: construction, holding ability Cons: absolutely none
This is the first GPS mount that I have bought for an ATV that actually holds the GPS in place when trail riding. No matter how much I bounce around or how big the rocks are that we traverse, the GPS stays in place and never budges. I keep reaching for it when I am on my machine to tighten it or reposition it but am reminded that this thing does not move.
Best mount ever. I also use the mount portion for my other GPSs with the same results. An outstanding product that I would buy again but may never have to.

WORKS FINE FOR GPS V
I purchased this package for my motorcycle. I principally needed a GPS V holder that was RAM 238U compatible to match a custom mount from Twisted Throttle (SW Motech) that fits to my 2009 Kawasaki Versys handlebar clamp. The GPS V holder fit the SW Motech bracket perfectly. I'm keeping the U-bolt part of the package for use on my dual sport motorcycles. I'll order an E-Trex holder for that application.

I've been using this assembly, with a stainless steel handlebar mount substituted for the round base, for the past two years to attach my Garmin GPS V to my Harley-Davidson Road King Classic. It has met all my performance expectations! My observations/comments: (1) The GPS bracket is very secure in holding the GPS V. I have no concern that the bracket, or any part of the assembly, is going to allow the GPS to fall off the bike. (2) The assembly has never slipped, or even seemed close to slipping, in use. (3) The mounts somewhat isolate the GPS from the vibration of the bike. (4) The bike does not induce any resonance into the GPS mount, the GPS is always stable and easy to read. (5)The mounting arm allows the GPS to be positioned in several ways. When using the GPS alone I swing it down low over the center of the handlebars. (6) I really like the little spring in RAM mounting arms! It causes one end of the arm to open first while the other end stays relatively in place. Thus when I remove the GPS from the bike, almost everytime I park it, I loosen the knob on the arm and the clamp releases from the handlebar end. The other end of the arm stays attached to the GPS mount even when the assembly is thrown into a saddlebag. It's great not having to look for loose parts every time you go to mount something! The spring is a great, albeit subtle, design feature. (7) My only negative comment; I wish RAM would make a better looking handlebar bracket. It would be nice if the threads/nut on the U-bolt could be concealed.
