GARMIN NUVI WINDSHIELD MOUNT

Pros: very sturdy
Cons: a bit big

This is a sturdy mount. It is bigger than the original but works well.

REPLACEMENT BETTER THAN ORIGINAL

Pros: price, qaulity, service (speed and efficiency)
Cons: none

Bought this for my daughter who had lost the original Garmin mount somewhere in Death Valley. The replacement is stronger, better than the original. The service from GPS City was excellent. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Pros: high quality material
Cons: none

I drive truck and needed a mount that would hold up to the bumps and vibration. Mounted in front of me on the windshield, I don't have to take my eyes off the road. I haul in and of stone quarries and the haul roads are pretty rough, and I have not had any problems. Snaps in nice and tight into the cradle and the power cord plugs in with no problem. The mount itself is made of very high quality material. Would not trust the mount that came with my Garmin for the job i do, to much money invested to have it fall and break. Very satisfied with my RAM mount and highly recommend it to anyone. Very fast shipping. Thanks again for a for a high quality "American Made" product.

GREAT, BUT REQUIRES MODIFICATION FOR POWER CORD

Pros: it's a ram mount, and they're the best
Cons: the holder doesn't accommodate the power plug

I've used a Ram Mount for my Cessna's Garmin 196 for years, and they're the best. Rides out the nastiest turbulence. The only thing that will knock it off the Plexi is a pressure change, which isn't exactly a design defect. So when I absentmindedly left the mediocre Garmin-supplied suction mount in a rental car, it was no loss. Instead, I thought, "All right, and excuse to upgrade to a Ram Mount!"

The mount is fine EXCEPT for one glaring design defect, noted by several others here: The holder into which my Garmin 205W snaps has a plastic bar just below the hole for the USB plug which prevents full insertion (and thus use) of the power cord, which has a 90-degree "L" bend. Since the 205W is not exactly known for spectacular battery-life, this is a major problem.

Had I more closely read the reviews here before ordering, I would have been amply warned, and the design defect seems easy enough to fix. However, for a company like Ram to blow this design detail is not merely disappointing, it's downright shocking. That Ram continues to ignore it (according to another review) is inexcusable.

I plan to take a Dremel tool to the mount and fix it, but the point is I shouldn't have to. I don't mind "some assembly required" in the form of screwing the mount's pieces together, but I should not have to Dremel or file the mount to make the standard Garmin power cord work.

GPS MOUNT FOR 250W

Arrived in short order. It is a heavy duty mount that works as advertised. Much better than the original that came with the unit.

VERY VERSETILE RAM

It mounts extremely well on the side vindow of my car. I prefer that position as I hardly have to take my eyes off the road.

PARAMEDIC

Excellent, the best holder for the wide screen but cannot be use with you lighter plug adapter! Unless you do what I do: when you connect you mini USB adapter behind the GPS, it is flat after a correct connection. But the way it’s made, you can’t, so I simply cut about 1/3 of an inch behind the holder of a little plastic bar across and I can use my lighter plug adapter.rnThey should of tough of that? But anyway, for me it’s not a big deal since it’s a solid holder.
