GPSMAP78 CRADLE MOUNT
Pros: easy to mount the gps unit. Cons: don't really have any.
It adapted well to an existing ram mount that I had. I simple removed the 2 screws on the back and transferred it to the new mount. I now mount my GPS in my truck, or I can take it and mount it on my quad. On the quad it is very sturdy, even traveling on very rough ground.

GPSMAP 78S RAM MOUNT
Pros: easy insertion and removal from cradle Cons: none
I recently upgraded my Garmin GPS unit from the GPSMAP 76csx to the new GPSMAP 78s. I orderred the new mount from gpscity.com and the new design is a huge improvement from the design of the 76series model. I configured a permanent mounting system on my 17' sea kayak using a baseplate, then attaching an extender and the GPS unit with the cradle. The RAM design uses rollers at the top portion of the cradle, which allows easy and quick insertion and removal from the mount. Once in place, it holds the GPS unit solid. The bottom portion has a gap in teh middle allowing the lanyard on teh GPS unit to move freely, which makes it easy to lash onto webbing for added security. The cradle itself is lightweight but extremely durable. A great product from a great innovative company!

ANOTHER GREAT RAM MOUNT
Pros: ability to buy cradle only to fit existing ram Cons: i haven't found one with any of my 3 ram mounts.
Yet another excellent RAM Mount. I have been using this brand of mounts for the past 7+ years.
I use them in a marine environment summertime and in a harsh cold winter environment.
They have never failed to impress me with their simplicity and quality. I recommend it to everyone. It surpasses most of the OEM mounts I have seen.
