I LIKE IT
Pros: secure, easy to see and use gps,
These RAM mounts feel "cheesy" when you get them out of the box but they have all held up well for me. I have only put a few hundred miles my motorcycle with the ram mount for the GPSMAP 62, but it has held up very well on the trails and dirt roads. It looks like the power cord will plug right in with out taking the unit out of the mount. I'm glad I got it. The tab at the bottom of the mount is a little close to the bottom buttons, so if you have really big fingers or bulky gloves on that might be an issue but not a bad one.

RAM MOUNT FOR 62S
Pros: priced right, works well. Cons: mounting the gps could be better.
I've been using this mount on my DRZ dual-sport for several weeks now and have had no problems. The mount holds the GPS securely without any movement that I have seen. Slipping the GPS in and out of the mount could be a little easier, therefore 4 stars.

Pros: very secure, sturdy build Cons: awkward, almost frustrating to use
The cradle holds the gpsmap 62 securely, but it’s an awkward setup, you can’t simply pop the unit in and out as easily as the old gpsmap 60 cradle. As others have pointed out, the cradle design interferes somewhat with operation, but it still useable. My biggest complaint is having to remove the power cable each time you want to insert or remove the gps from the cradle. I'm disappointed in the designers, the 62 has a neat clip feature on the back of the unit, and I think RAM should have incorporated it into the design of the cradle to make it a little sleeker and friendlier to use.

AWKWARD CONNECTION !
Pros: very secure and solid construction. Cons: necessary to disconnect the power cord every time.
I am using two RAM Garmin cradles one for my Oregon and this latest one for my Map62S. The Oregon cradle is far superior since it doesn't require disconnection and reconnection of the power cord every time it is removed from the cradle, an operation that is quite frequent in our geocaching adventures. RAM could have done better !

POOR DESIGN
Pros: fairly secure mounting, even in tough conditions Cons: poorly thoughtout operational features
Ram may have done the best they could, but the Ram cradle in combination with the 62st leaves a lot to be desired. The first issue is getting the 62wst 'loaded' in the cradle. the gps has to be inserted from the bottom. That requires that the power cord be removed before inserting. Then just try to hook up the power cord without looking at the back of the unit!! Want the gps in your hand again so its convenient to operate it? Well, just pull the cord out, and go through the whole operation again. And if you want to operate the gps while it's in the cradle, that too is difficult because the lowest portion of the cradle that holds the gps in the cradle is positioned way too close to the "Enter" and the "Quit" buttons. Almost impossible to operate with gloves on. I use the combination almost exclusivly on a ATV, so your milage may vary in other applications, Anyway, I was disapointed. Not what I expected from Ram.

GPS MAP 62 CRADLE MOUNT
Pros: works fine. Cons: power cord must be removed prior to exiting gps.
Works very well. There is a technique to implementing that makes the cradle user friendly. Had a similar one on my 1995 Eagle Explorer with similar wings on top and still have. When attached to 12 volt power cord however a bit of a challenge in that must mount yor unit into cradle first then attach cord and disconnet cord first before exiting your GPS from cradleotherwise will catch in cradle. No biggy. I am quite satisfied with this product.

I REALLY WISH IT WOULD HAVE WORKED BETTER....
Pros: looks good, fits fairly well...
I bought this mount to hold my Garmin 62S GPS on my Yamaha Waverunner SHO. Long story short, after pounding through some rough surf I was shocked to see that the GPS had come out of the holder and had been "lost at sea."
Big time bummer, $550 down the drain [so to speak].
I love the RAM mounts, but they could have done better with this one.
Pros - looks good, fits fairly well... Cons - a "fairly good fit" in not good enough!
Hope this helps.

Pros: seems sturdy Cons: external power cable access fiddly
Only just got it so cannot comment how well it stands up over time. Based on initial use : - Yes the bottom of the mount is close to the bottom buttons of the GPS but I would say that is not a significant problem. You can still operate buttons reasonably well. - Seems sturdy and holds unit well.

GARMIN GPSMAP 62S CRADLE
Cons: top ears flex outward too easily
Had a problem with my GPS trying to come out of the cradle at the top. I ride dual sport and the trails can get rough. The top ears spread apart allowing the GPS to work it's way out of the cradle. I comunicated my problem to GPS City and you sent me another cradle. I still had the problem. I corrected the problem by tethering the top ears together with a piece of fishing line. I drilled a 1/32" hole near the end of each ear and ran the line from hole to hole leave a slight amount of slack to allow the ears to spread a little as needed when I place it in the holder. It doesnt' take much to keep the ears from spreading apart. Now it is fine and I am very happy.

NEEDS HELP
Pros: holds unit secure, easy to engage and disengage Cons: impractical to use with usb cord
The problem with this cradle is that it is impossible to plug the USB cord into it before inserting it in the cradle. Then when you put it in the cradle before plugging it in there is not enough room to undo the flap that covers the USB plug. I hope to modify mine to get better access to the plug flap.

GOD/BAD
Pros: tight fit and hold on the gps Cons: too tight a fit and snug tolerance on power cable
This mount does a great job at cradling the unit if you are just driving or biking, but is bulky and for geoachng, not useful since it is most difficult to remove and replace the unit when moving in and out of the vehicle to hunt the cache. Additionally, it leaves little room for the protective cover and power cable on the back of Garmin's 62 series. Near impossible to disconnect the unit from the mount with the cable attached. Despite a poor fit with the 62, I have gone back to using my 60 series mount.

GARMIN GPSMAP 62 RAM MOUNT REVIEW
The mount holds the unit very securely but you must connect the power cord after the unit is in the cradel, difficult at best. This makes it inconvienient when car geocaching. RAM should have made use of the "clip attachment" on the unit but Garmin probably has it patented.
No problems at all with the order. GPSCity takes good care of the customer.

LOOSE IN THE CRADLE
Pros: none Cons: everything about it, poorly designed
(Follow up)After having this mount awhile, since it came out, I have to say this is really poor quality. My GPS now moves around in the cradle, which makes it not very good for traveling. Have to stick paper or something to prevent it from rattling. It's such a nuisance to put in and remove, and almost to the point of braking something when trying to place power cord. Even trying to get in with rubber cover removed because it's to hard to remove rubber cover once in the mount. I'm usually a big fan of Ram Mounts, but this was not well though out at all.

WORKS, BUT NOT ELAGANT
Pros: fits the rest of my ram components Cons: doesn't fit this gps well, have to unplug to mount
Doesn't quite seem up to normal RAM standards of design and quality. The top 'wings' that hold the GPS in place seem quite flimsy and although they hold the unit well, don't seem to be very flush and are quite bendy by themselves. You can't mount the GPS in the clip if you have it already plugged into power via the USB port or anything else plugged in. In fact, you have to make sure that the rubber plug on the back of the GPS is completely pushed in otherwise it catches and you can't unplug it after mounting the GPS to actually plug your accessories in. You also have to remove the carrying clip from the back which is another pain. When mounted it is also very hard to push the bottom two buttons which are partially blocked/recessed by the clip holding the GPS in place.

BAD DESIGN BUT IT IS STILL GOOD
Pros: holds gps tight in place Cons: spend $$$ on accessories. roller close to button
I experienced my problems on a car, so I hope this helps other people who are planning to use it in their car.
Like the other reviews this cradle has problems when it comes to using the rear mini-USB and MCX port, and the Quit and Enter buttons.
If you're planning on using the mini-USB power cable and mounting the GPS on and off frequently, it will be a real hassle. The problem is that you cannot keep the power cable attached and mount the GPS like the 60CSx. Instead, you have to keep the weather cap closed, mount the gps, then if your fingers are the right size, try to open the weather cap, AND THEN, if you're good and lucky, don't have a problem inserting the mini-USB in your first try. To remove the GPS without a hassle you have to first remove the cable and then close the weather cap. For me this cradle is uncomfortable to use. Take a look at the additional image of the cradle and you will see what I mean.
The other problem has to do with the Quit and Enter buttons on the bottom of the GPS. The image of the GPS on the cradle is misleading since the GPS is not totally snapped onto the cradle. Once the GPS is totally on the cradle the roller will be right next to the Quit and Enter buttons. I don't have much of a problem pressing the buttons, but I do press on the roller sometimes instead of the buttons. If you have a big thumb or finger, I guess you would have a bit more of a problem pressing the buttons.
Anyhow, I would highly recommend that you buy the EZY-Mount that Ram Mount has to get around with the problem of attaching the cables and frequent mounting and dismounting of the GPS. I'm currently using the RAP-326RMU and RAP-B-326FU. Bad thing is that you'd have to spend more $$$ on extra stuff.
Overall I'd still recommend the cradle. It does serve its purpose if you use the GPS with batteries. Otherwise, do consider getting the EZY-Mounts.

POOR CRADLE
Cons: loose and hard to access quit and enter keys
Compared to the cradle for the 60Map GPS, this is a poor substitute. The main problem is it sits in the cradle with too much play and therefore prone to vibration. Also hard to accurately hit the enter or quit keys because of the spring retaining tongue at the bottom. I'm a snowmobiler and much prefer the old 60 cradle.

NEARLY PERFECT GPS MOUNT
Pros: solid feel Cons: can't connect power cable until gps is mounted.
Got it installed quickly. Up to high standards for RAM- MOUNT. Only things to improve would be a way to plug up power cable and then insert into mount, and how snug it is during insertion into mount.
Once I realized it had those two minor flaws, it has been a good mount. No problems using it. It has not scarred the gps, but over time it may do that after a few hundred insertions.
Would recommend using it when the GPS is left in the cradle for longer periods - not for geocaching with many stops over short periods of time.
Happy with the cradle but hope they make slight improvements for rev 2.

GOOD BUT TOO BULKY
Pros: sturdy Cons: bulky, pain to mount/dismount
It holds the GPS sturdy and all, but I don't know why they didn't just use the mount for the belt clip. It would be faster, easier and not nearly as bulky. You have to unplug power cord before removing and placing in mount, which is a pain and placing GPS in mount is a pain to do. You have to also make sure rubber cover is on properly and all the way before removing and replacing GPS.It does what it's suppose to do very well, holding the GPS, but could of been much simpler and better if they would of used the existing back cover belt clip connection.

COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER...
Pros: inexpensive, solid, usual ram quality. Cons: the clamp roller is too close to lowest buttons.
One issue I think the 62 will have, for motorcycle use, us that you're likely to end up using a RAM mount to hold it, but the clamp mechanism roller gets in the way of the Enter and Quit keys. If you're using gloves, and nobody rides motorcycles without gloves, it's gonna be tough to use those keys.
Aside from that the mount looks solid, and it provides access to all the various connection points like the usb/power source and external antenna as well as the power button.

DISAPPOINTED THIS TIME AROUND.
Cons: power cable difficult to attach.
I must say that I'm disappointed this time around with the RAM solution. I use my GPSr with its mini USB power cable while in a vehicle, and the new design precludes easy attachment of the power cable to the unit once the unit is in its cradle. This is fine if you plan to keep the unit fixed in place for several hours, but I start and stop frequently, and like to be able to pop the unit in and out of the cradle easily. This is not an issue if you are running the unit off of batteries only. I would have preferred a RAM mount that took advantage of the easy off/easy on clip mount system already a part of the GPSMAP 62 series.

NOT A REVIEW OF THIS PART, BUT OF WHAT YOU CAN USE
Pros: made by ram so it's good. Cons: not out until november.
The RAM mount for the 62 has not yet been released, but for the moment, the RAM mount for the Garmin 60 works pretty well to hold the 62 in place. The 62 does not have the "button" which is on the 60, so you need to loop an elastic band around the RAM mount to hold the 62, but it works perfectly, until your 62 mount arrives.
