VERY POOR DESIGN
Clearly not well designed for the C550 or C580 GPS unit. It flops around and will eventually fall off and ding your tank. Or it will fall off the motorcycle and be lost. The OEM Garmin ball is much more secure and trustworthy. Ram Mount should come up with a cradle design rather than rely on an undersized ball.
Pros: absolutely none Cons: see review Recommend: NO

GARMIN G-BALL CRADLE CONNECTOR
Works, but you will need to reverse the screws/nuts to attach it to the Garmin 255WT mount, otherwise the nuts protrude far enough from the molded wells to prevent the ball from snapping into the mount.

GOOD MOUNT
I have 2 of these and they both work great. I have one in my company truck and one in my personal truck. The company truck does mostly off roading and I have never had a problem with the GPS falling off.
Pros: mounts gps close to the mounting surface. Cons: none Recommend: YES

G-BALL CRADLE CONNECTOR RAM-HOL-GA22U
Unless you permanently glue this cradle connector to the GPS unit, it tends to fall off very easily. It does not have the holding power of the Garmin OEM ball mount. This applies to use in a car or on a motorcycle.
Gluing it works well, but now the unit cannot be moved from the RAM mount to another vehicle with the OEM mount. Poor design.
Pros: inexpensive Cons: poor holding power - poor design Recommend: NO

NOT GOOD FOR MOTORCYCLE....
or any application where the GPS could be in danger of breaking if the RAM mount fails. I just started off for a ride on my motorcycle and it jiggled and fell off the mount. LUCKILY, i had the cord attached and wrapped around the RAM mount so it just dangled a little bit without harm. I was going 15 MPH on a paved street. Do not trust your GPS with this setup. :(

NEED TO GLUE IT!
This mount will not hold the Garmin StreetPilot securely. Hit a bump, and it comes off. I needed to use ABS cement to permanently attach it in order for it to be secure. I have read many other comments on the Internet saying the same thing. Come on RAM! Make one that works without glue!
Cons: not secure Recommend: NO

RAM MOUNT PLASTIC SOCKET CRADLE CONNECTOR FOR GARM
Bolted this plastic socket cradle to a flat surface on my BMW LT and it works perfectly as a "direct mount". I own both a Garmin StreetPilot i2 and a Garmin Nuvi 200 - works well for both units.

BALL IS TOO SMALL FOR GARMIN STREETPILOT C530
Ordered this ball on the 6" flex mount (RAP-105-6224-GA22) and found the GPS just 'flops' around on the ball until you hit a bump, then it falls off. And whats with the 4 side ridges on the ball? There are none on the Garmin Ball & it works great. I have no Idea how this got past quality control. It's landfill.

UNSAFE FOR MOTORCYCLE USE
This cradle is unsafe for motorcycle use. It does not hold the GPS (Garmin C530) solidly in place. At the first bump on the road, the GPS unit will fall off. The original ball connector from Garmin hold into place much better, alas it is not intented for motorcycle use.
