The plate ships with a set of short and long nuts and bolts to connect the plate to your required cradle, and many other devices. Note: The Garmin cradles listed are included with the purchase of each GPS unit, or can purchased separately.
* The Garmin cradle for the GPSMAP 176, GPSMAP 176C, GPSMAP 276C, GPSMAP 196 (only the cradle on the yoke mount) and GPSMAP 296 (only the cradle on the yoke mount) will connect to this RAM mount, by unscrewing the cradle from the mount. For an even stronger holding cradle, you can purchase the cradle manufactured by RAM (RAM-HOL-GA7).

The Stainless Steel U-Bolt and nuts included are designed it fit on most motorcycle round handlebars, or any circular rail or pipe with diameter from 3/4 to 1.0 inch.
To mount the rail base, place the top of the base on the rail and then slide the u-bolt around the rail, into the holes in the base top. Now tighten the screws onto the u-bolt until the base is clamped firmly. If you desire, you can now slot the black rubber covers over the exposed ends of the u-bolt.
NOTE: This base is completely rust proof.
For Larger Rail Mounting:
For a larger rail, you can purchase the RAM Mount Stainless Steel Large Rail U-Bolt for circular rails with diameter up to 1.25 inches.

My fourth purchase from gpscity. Previous 3 went great and I expect this one will as well. I do feel rather sheepish though. This last week I've been combing the net for a golf GPS. For some reason this evening the lights went on - gpscity. Thank goodness I remembered you folks. I'll never know what took so long though. Anyway, I got to you and I feel much better now. :) Don Donald L. ON, May 11/12 |
