These are pics of the iPhone 4 bike mount being used on a Giant mountain bike. This is a super simple way to go compared to some of the other alternatives. The cable ties in conjunction with the rubbery bar wrap hold the RAP-274-1U bar mount as solid as a rock. The iphone cradle holds the phone securely, no jiggling that I can detect. Easy on and off, and a second bar mount can be ordered for only a few bucks, so you can move your phone from bike to bike easily. I can highly recommend this mount combination. The bottom is open for accessories like a charger or Ant+ dongle There is no rain protection, but I'm thinking a baggy over the phone with an elastic around the bar mount should do the trick.

GARMIN MONTANA CRADLE AND MOUNT ON A BICYCLE

The cradle is well made and solid. There is however a potential weak spot with the mount to which the cradle is attached. I would not use this mount if I was doing serious off-road mountain biking. My perception is that the mount could fail if there was significant jarring and torque applied to the mount. If you plan to use the Montana cradle for serious mountain biking I have another mount I suggest you consider.

Here is the reason I did not choose the stronger mount. The mount that I purchased allows the user to remove the Montana cradle from the bike. I like that ability. I do not want the cradle to be attached to the bike all the time. The stronger mount has the cradle permanently attached to the mount, and is not easily removable.

I mounted the Garmin Montana, that I purchased from GpsCity, on a bicycle. I used the RAM Mount Plastic Garmin Montana 600 650 650t Bike EZ Handlebar Rail Mount. It was esy to install and it is a solid fit. I'm pleased.

ON THE TRAIL IN PINERY PROVINCIAL PARK

I got my Garmin nuvi 1350 for Father's day this year and liked it so much when I was driving that I also wanted to take it with me when I went biking with the family. So I went online and found the RAM Mount Garmin nuvi 1300 Bike Mount (RAP-274-1-GA34U) at gpscity.ca.

I was very impressed on how quickly it shipped, and how easy the product was to install. I've had the mount for a few weeks now and I love it! I've taken it on bike trails, and most recently on a camping trip to Pinery Provincial Park. Other people seem impressed with it too. The usual reaction when they see it is "Is that a GPS?....on your bicycle?"

I'm now looking for a camera mount so that i can take videos of the family bike rides. Looks like I might need a bigger handlebar for my bicycle...hahaha

I had a cheap bike computer on my bike and carrying my GPS in my pack. I needed to get my GPS on my handlebars for the long rides in the woods. Express Mounts made that possible! Thx Express Mounts!!

I had been looking for a mount to use on the stem of my mountain bike. Most mount either don't swivel or don't offer a quick release.

I finally came across the "RAM Mount eTrex Color Series Ez On-Off Bike Rail Mount". This mount was exactly what I was looking for.

I mostly use it for geocaching, I leave my GPS in the mount while biking and I pop it out when I go on the trails looking for caches. I also use it for mapping trails with my GPS. It's nice to be able to have a quick look down and see your speed, time of day, location and more.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of my setup. Thanks GPSCity!

IPHONE RAM MOUNT

First mount I tried with my iPhone 3GS and it works like a champ! I even accidently dropped it once on a ride and it landed face down on the road. The "prongs" holding the iPhone in kept the face of the phone from hitting the ground and breaking, awesome! I'm even able to cover my iPhone with a ziplock bag in rainy weather, and still have it held securely in the mount!

I wanted a good way to take my iPhone on rides with me, one for emergencies, and two, to take advantage of the GPS capabilities of the phone. Throwing it in my jersey pocket wasn't really a solution since there is a real good chance it would get all sweaty.

I found the RAM bicycle mount on gpscity.com and knew it would do what I wanted. My handle bars aren't round and are varying in size, but the top tube provided a shape that the mount would fit on nicely. The mount holds the phone very securely and is still easily accessible while riding.

I also have a Garmin Edge that is mounted to the stem, but am seriously considering mounting the iPhone in its place and only taking one device!

RAM MOUNT ETREX SERIES BIKE RAIL MOUNT

No off road adventures yet with this set up, but I am very pleased with the initial look of the mount. It is also quick and easy to put the GPS into the mount and remove it when desired.

GPS LOW PROFILE RAM MOUNT ON MOUNTAIN BIKE

I am using a pair of Ram low profile mounts on my Gary Fisher Piranah Mtn bike. (RAP-274)
They allow me to keep the GPS units close to the handlebars and doesn't amplify the vibration I was getting with a standard Ram mounting arm.
As my hobby I map bicycle trails and like having a backup so I won't lose any data. My Garmins haven't failed me yet. My earlier Garmin didn't do maps, so I used the Brunton MPS (AKA Lowrance iFinder) with MapCreate to help me find my way around. Just got an email today that my cradles for the new DeLorme PN 20 and eTrex color were finally being shipped. I was an alpha and beta tester on that unit and want to load the DeLorme maps on it and use it as my secondary unit. Garmin is by far #1 for consumer GPS so it will be my primary focus. However, I will be playing with creating routable trails of my network of GPS enabled bicycle trails. I normally don't get that much glare off my screen guards as seen in the photo.
