BROKE
Make sure you get the length correct the first time because I didn't and had to take the pin out and the plastic broke. Partly user error but its designed to not have to take the pin out after you install it.

IT WORKS
Pros: removable Cons: stiff strap is difficult to work
The mount is a bit of an effort to set up, but works. The strap is very stiff, and has to be cut to fit bike handlebars, but it holds reasonably well, and it is easily removable which is a plus

FUNCTIONAL, BUT STRAP COULD USE SOME IMPROVEMENT
Pros: seems very sturdy Cons: strap mechanism takes a bit of trial and error
The 3 increments which RAM provides for changing the strap length leaves a bit to be desired. It's a bit of a challenge getting the pin set once the strap is cut. I would like to see the three increments done away with and the design changed so that the strap can be infintitely adjustable by being able to click in/out to adjust both sides of the strap. Bottom line is the product works and works quite well.

GOOD INEXPENSIVE MOUNT
Pros: doesn't take up much space on my golf cart Cons: very difficult to assemble
This mount works well when you get it assembled, but it is a bear to get the pin thru the strap and the mount - there has to be a better way to accomplish this. I finally used a pair of rubber tipped vise grips, which I was afraid might break the mount. I had read another persons review with the same problem and figured they probably wern't very mechanical - wrong!!

PUT THE PIN IN FROM THE OTHER SIDE!
All the other reviewer had to do was put the pin in from the other side. RAM purposely offset the hole on one side so that the pin could only be put in from the other side. I can't remember if the instructions stated this, but it wasn't that hard to figure out. I'll give this a 4 as there was a little bit of confusion on my side, but it took me about 2 minutes to figure out.

BUYER BEWARE!
Pros: detachable, great in theory Cons: poorly designed mounting system
I had high expectations for this mount when I ordered it. I liked the idea of a bicycle mount that was easily removed and attached. When I ordered it I had not realized that the product was back ordered, and anxiously waited weeks for it to ship. It finally arrived today, and I carefully read the instructions before starting assembly. When I finally got to the part where the strap attaches to the mount, I realized there was a problem. There is a pin that goes through the strap and there are 2 holes in the mount that the pin is 'supposed' to go through, in the way a watch band connects to a wrist watch. The problem is that the 2nd hole that the pin goes through is drilled lower than the first, which is good in theory to keep the pin from falling out, but is so low that it is almost impossible to get it in. I tried for a solid half hour before giving up and writing to Ram-Mounts expressing my displeasure. I told them the product is great in theory, but needs more R&D. Even if I did manage to get it attached I'm apprehensive about using it, knowing that a badly designed mount is all there is between my $300 iPod and the pavement. I may permanently attach the mount with zip ties, which is the mount I should have gone with in the first place....so buyer beware!
