RAM MOUNT CAMERA MOUNT PLATE RAM-B-202AU

Pros: beefy!
Cons: none

Very well made. Large surface area provides excellent contact with even larger things (20-60x80 spotting scope) for wider weight distribution reducing fear that the mounting stud might pull out or the weight of the mounted device might topple.

ANOTHER GREAT RAM MOUNT

Pros: it is great, as always from ram.
Cons: none

I got this to take video and still shots from my motorcycle. The only thing I changed was to add a rubber washer the same diameter as the platform, to sort of cushion the camera. It is very stable and easy to use.

SCREW COMES OUT

Pros: holds camera well. easy to install.
Cons: screw comes out in camera.

The first time I used this mount, the screw stayed in the camera when I removed the camera from the mount. It was very difficult to get the screw out of the camera and now I am afraid to use it again. It did hold the camera very solidly in place on the motorcycle while in use.

RAM MOUNT CAMERA MOUNT PLATE RAM-B-202AU

Pros: solid mount
Cons: needs cushion material on contact surface.

Plate needs cushion material between itself and camera. Look at all tripod heads.. its never metal on metal. I had to take a scrap piece of leather, cut to fit and used contact cement to attach to plate.

Other than above, excellent mount, I used it to hold a HD video camera on my motorcycle while traveling the Cabot Trail.

GREAT IDEA BUT...

Pros: non yet :(
Cons: screw too long, no quick mount feature.

I finally got a chance to use this mount with my camera. The screw is too long for either my dSLR or my mini-DV video camera. I'll need to find a large rubber pad for the base before using it again. No matter how much I tightened the screw, the camera would come loose in minutes, causing me to pay attention to the camera, not the road.

The screw should be separate from the base to allow for easy mounting and removal without having to reposition the camera EVERY time. I'm going to try mounting my quick mount tripod adapter to the base and see if that works better. It's a great idea but falls short in execution.

MOUNT YOUR CAMERA THE RIGHT WAY.

Pros: easy to install and easy to change cameras.

I do a lot of ATV riding. I wanted a way to mount a digital camera for video of our rides. I had a handlebar clamp and ball, one of RAM's ball clamps, and needed a mount for the camera itself. I bought one of these as it has the threads to fit into the 1/4" hole on the bottom of most cameras. Screwed it on and it stayed on tight. Makes for a great mount that can be moved around the handlebars or other metal tubes on the quad. Highly recommend this product.

CAMERA MOUNT PLATE

Pros: fits any camera or camcorder
Cons: somewhat limited ram adjustability

Not much to say, this mount plate holds any larger camera or camcorder with ease. Due to the short bolt length between the ball and the plate, there isn't as much adjustability as on other RAM mounts, but it's fine.

GREAT CAMERA MOUNT

Pros: light but very solid
Cons: none that i can think of

This little baby worked great, once tightened into the arm clamps it did not move, I added a rubber washer between the camera and plate as the screw was a little long for the Go Pro camera threaded mount but this was overcome with a simple rubber washer.

VIDEO CAMERA MOUNT

Pros: it holds on to your camera very very tight !
Cons: none

I bought this Camera mount for using it on my Harley. Using it with the Long Ram mount Arm, I was able to get it up behind my windshield and video very easy.Taking your Video camera back off is very easy too. Just hold onto your camera with one hand and unscrew the plate with the other hand. Easy !! It works great ! As I have bought so many other Ram Mounts for my radar unit, and my Sirius/XM radio and drink holder. Love them all ! Thanks for a Grrrreat Product.

GREAT QUALITY, NEEDED TO GLUE IN SCREW

Pros: large plate, solid al.
Cons: ram needs to secure screw better at production.

This is a great plate for your camera or video cam. It has a large plate surface for extra stability. The only thing that I would improve is when I tried to take off the camera, the screw released from the plate rather than from the camera itself. I just put in a couple dabs of epoxy, tighten the screw in the plate and its been perfect since.

A BIT LARGER THAN I THOUGHT

Pros: excellent quality.
Cons: none i can think of.

I intended on using this device to attach a very small camcorder to my motorcyle & doing video while moving down the road. I have as yet to complete that task so I can not rate its performance. I do know this device was some what larger than I expected after having received it, but I now think that's a good thing & will still work well. I am happy with the construction of this device and appears very sturdy. With the holes in the plate, I have ideas about attaching some vibration cushons or support bars for damping out shakes & other multiple uses for this.

PERFECT CAMERA HOLDER

Pros: great
Cons: no con's

The wife and I tour by Motorcycle extensively. On many ocassions we had to seek out a place to put the camera so we would both be in the picture. This great little mount allows the bike handlbar to hold the camera so we can both be in the picture, and there's no danger of the camera geting damaged.

CAMERA MOUNT FOR MC

Pros: very adjustable
Cons: above

This is a great mount for any light to medium size camera. Really sturdy even on the road. One thing that was very noticable is that they used shiny screws in a black mount. This could have looked much better with original-type black Cap screws. Colored mine with a marker..kind of tacky.

VERY GOOD, BUT...

Pros: well made, easy to use, affordable
Cons: doesn't eliminate vibes for handlebar mounting

I bought this to mount my video camera on my motorcycle. The mount is high quality, affordable, easy to use, and the camera attaches exactly how it's supposed to. Plus, you can swivel it to make all kinds of adjustments.

The "but" from the title of this review comes from the fact that I still cannot get vibeless video while using the mount.

This is not the mounts "fault", but it's why I bought the mount, so if any other videomakers are hoping to buy this and have smooth video, that's not the case (at least for me). I'm still trying to find a better mounting spot where maybe the vibes will be less. Of course, for still cameras, and for video while not moving, it works perfectly.

SOLID CAMERA MOUNT

I wanted to attach a video camera to my bicycle handlebars to illustrate bike routes for my blog, http://www.palmbeachbiketours.com/

I modified a GPS mount, but wanted something actually designed for the job.

This mount is simple to use, the 1/4-20 screw is the perfect length and it does what it's supposed to. There is a lot of vibration, but that's not the mount's fault.

RAM CAMERA THREAD MOUNT

Pros: allows easy mounting of cameras
Cons: easy to drop your camera if you aren't carefull

Unit is well made and functional for small to medium cameras. Unit could be improved with a thumb washer to allow tightening in any position of the camera without loosening the main mount.

NICE CAMERA MOUNT

Cons: ball and socket design is really sturdy.

This is a really nice camera mount. The ball and socket holds really securely. The set screw that came with mine was slightly too long for my camera, so I think I will replace mine with one that is slightly shorter. It's a 1/4"-20 set screw if anyone needs to replace theirs too. I'm thinking that I might hold the set screw in place with some Locktite to make sure it stays the optimum length for my camera.

If your camera has plastic threads on the bottom, make sure you don't screw in too far or too hard because you will risk stripping out the threads.

THREADED CAMERA MOUNT

Pros: cheap and easy to use
Cons: not stabile enough

This mount, while well built, did not give me what I expected. I used it on my bike, and even with the camera set for anti-vibration, the picture came out shaky. I don't know if the problem is the mount itself or how I had it installed. I have the base 1 inch ball, a 2-3 inch extension, with this at the top. Maybe a shorter extension, or a mount that bolts direct to the bars might work better.
