RAM Mount Camera Long Arm Zinc U-Bolt Mount Description The RAM High Strength Plastic Mount with Aluminum Zinc Coated U-Bolt Rail Base consists of the 1'' dia. ball and socket system with RAM Plastic Universal 1/4''-20 thread centered on a 2.5'' diameter Plate. This mount is designed to be a universal mounting solution for both still and moving cameras.
BASE DESIGN:
The RAM-B-231Z RAM Mount Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Rail Base has a 1.0 inch diameter Rubber Ball designed to sit at right angles to the mounting rail. The Zinc Coated metal U-Bolt and nuts included are designed it fit on most motorcycle round handlebars, or any circular rail or pipe with diameter from 3/4 to 1.0 inch.
To mount the rail base, place the top of the base on the rail and then slide the u-bolt around the rail, into the holes in the base top. Now tighten the screws onto the u-bolt until the base is clamped firmly. If you desire, you can now slot the black rubber covers over the exposed ends of the u-bolt.
ARM DESIGN: The High Strength Plastic double socket arm is approximately 15'' long when measured between socket centers. The two 1'' ball sockets are connected to a 12'' long PVC black pipe.
CRADLE DESIGN: The High Strength Plastic Universal Camera Plate has a 1.0'' diameter Rubber Ball connected at right angles to a 2.5'' diameter Plate with a centered 1/4''-20 thread. The plate adds support to the thread, by allowing the camera to rest on the plate, creating a stable connection with the camera.
