IPOD MOUNT FOR MY V-DRUM
Pros: easy to mount, very stable. Cons: cradle a bit oversized ipod must use a cover case
I bought this iPod mount not for my bike but for my Roland TD-4K V-Drum. When practicing drum I'm used to play along tunes on my iPod. My drum allows to plug the iPod in his sound module so you can listen to the tune and to the drum sound at the same time. The problem was that I had to let the iPod hanging from the sound module or put it on a chair near by because the drum doesn't have any flat surface on witch to place the iPod safely since the drum is mounted on a tubular stand. Having to start, stop or change tunes on the iPod were a pain in the neck since the iPod was very hard to reach. The drum manufacturer unfortunately doesn't provide or manufacture any optional mount for the iPod, after doing some research I found the RAM Ez Bike Mount that serves exactly the purpose of mounting an iPod on a tubular surface. I secured the RAM Mount on the left cymbal mount that has more or less the diameter of a bicycle handlebar. The iPod now is easily reachable I just have to extend my arm to reach it, it is very stable and it doesn't move at all, and man I can tell you the I play my drum very hard. The iPod screen is very visible since the cradle can be mounted on a tapered rubber base that provides a better view angle and removing the iPod is just a snap away. Overall I'm very happy with this mount, I didn’t had any problem at all, and it fits my needs perfectly.
