WORKS GREAT
Holds the iPad3 just fine with the included rubber pads. The wheel at the end allows the iPad to go in and out easily. The only downside is that the iPad has to in so the power code faces away from the roller. Not a big deal, but it limits your flexibility a little.

SNUG AND SECURE
Pros: good solid grip, small footprint, versitile.
Cons: difficult to release from the ipad once attached.
Works as advertised. Used my iPad1 as a GPS on an extinsive road trip and the RAM mount held it in place perfectly. I used an 8" arm and suction mount to affix it to the windshield and supported the bottom of the iPad on the top of the dash. Although the set-up I used is strong enough the hold the iPad unsupported it vibrated to much on the end of the 8" arm to be useful so resting it in the dash was a better option. A shorter arm would provide a more rigid mount but would also restrict visibility. I was careful not to block the trajectory of front air bags having one go off and hurl the iPad at your face is iladvised. The only criticism of the RAM cradle is that the grip of the cradle is so strong it is difficult to remove from the iPad unit. It feels like it's about to break the iPad in two. A two-handed grip along the edge of the iPad and a two-thumb lift on the latch releases the cradle easilly distrubuting the stresses along the metal back of the iPad and not on the glass face. Easy does it!!

IPAD MOUNT FOR AIRCRAFT
Ipad2 mount fits very well and hold secure. Used with the double suction cup mount and a short mount arm it stays in place on the side wind screen on the plane and works great. Big improvement over using iPad on a knee board.

I just sent in a review for the RAM-HOL-AP8U and those comments should have been directed towards the RAM-HOL- TAB3U holder instead.
The TAB3U IS the holder to get if your using an IPAD. It's a spring loaded holder that fits my Samsung 700T very well after modifiying it! It would work very, very good with the IPAD tablets! It's secure and allows very quick insertion and removal of your IPAD.
You can't go wrong with the RAM mounting systems or GPSCity.com! Great products and better customer support, quick shipping....All around, a very nice place to buy all of my RAM products!

RAM-HOL-AP8U GREAT MOUNT
Pros: very sturdy design, easy to load/unload tablet
Cons: none so far
To clarify, I did not use this for an IPAD but another brand & larger Tablet PC called the Samsung 700T. I had to modify the mount to make it longer but even after the modification, I can tell you that this mount is very sturdy and allows the tablet to be installed and removed in seconds without any hassles!
If you are going to use it for it's intended purpose...the IPAD, I would say this is one of the best mounts available!

I was looking for a simple and secure iPad2 cradle to use with a yoke attachment I already had screwed into the back of my Bonanza A36 yoke. This works very well and holds the iPad securely. I used adhesive felt disks cut to line the corners as cushions. Works very well.

LESS THAN WHAT I EXPECTED
The fit to the iPad is not what I expected. It is a bit sloppy unless a "Belkin Snap Shield" is installed. Also, the entire unit bounces around and shakes when the iPad is installed. It's fine for static use, but while the vehicle is moving it is less than acceptable. The other thing that is discouraging is that the Ram system does not give the 360 degree of rotation that you get with other systems.

GREAT MOUNT
Pros: secure mount
Cons: be careful with the roller over the ipad antenna.
This mount works well. I use a 1" ball on the back of this mount along with a ball on the panel of my RV-6A. I have a 1- 3/4" arm and the assembly is very stable in flight.

Pros: solid
Cons: ipad may spring out when removed
nice firm fit. No way the Ipad is getting lose in this thing. The roller clip makes getting the Ipad out without damaging it possible. You have to be careful because the Ipad tende to spring out and you might drop it.

BREAKS IPADS
Pros: tight fit
Cons: too tight, top clip breaks the ipad.
Practically pulled the 3G antenna cover right off. I don't agree with Will. It was so tight that there's no way to stop it from prying the 3G cover off. Over time, the more you pull it off the weaker your 3G cover will become. Very bad design, they could have put two smaller clips on the top corners or high on the sides.

WORKS WELL ENOUGH
I have it attached to a round plate bolted onto my jeep's center dash. Stays steady and doesn't bounce, and can be nicely angled toward the driver's seat. You *do* have to be careful about removing the ipad from the mount to avoid putting undue pressure on the 3G antenna.

I'm returning this item. I have a 3G iPad, and the first time removing the iPad, the roller bar on the top of the RAM mount pulled the black 3G antenna cover almost completely off. I was able to click it back in without anything breaking, but there's no way I'll use this with my iPad again. Consider it a permanent mount if you have a 3G.

Pros: holds the ipad very securely
For mounting in an airplane this is the perfect iPad cradle. I have never found a "universal" attachment bracket/arm that will work in every airplane. There is no attachment bracket/arm supplied with this cradle so you must construct your own or purchase one separately. This is OK because there are several options for attaching an arm on the cradle that work well with any attachment bracket/arm you may contrive.

OUTSTANDING IPAD RAM MOUNT

Put this on the instrument panel of my Van's RV-6A. It allows you to position your IPad vertical or horizontal for the best fit. It gives you an infinite positions for minute adjustments to fit your viewing needs.

GREAT WAY TO MOUNT IPAD
Pros: easy to use
Cons: can only be used without the apple cover
Purchased this to use both in car and commercial airplanes for trips (movies) and in a private aircraft to run mapping software. Works great! We also use it a lot in the kitchen to show recipes and for entertainment while cooking.

IPAD MOUNT FOR AIRCRAFT
I used the Cradle along with a articulated ram mount to mount the ipad in my airplane (Vans RV-7A). It worked great and provides exactly what was needed to save space, tilt the ipad at the correct angle from the right side of the instrument panel for viewing on the left side, etc. Excellent quality.

THE BETTER CHOICE
I have an iPad mounted in the airplane cockpit. There are several options on the cradle as to how it mounts. Everything is easy and, with quite a bit of experimentation, you can configure this mount to fit your own needs.

REALLY GREAT AND USEFUL ITEM.
Pros: security and ease of use.
I mounted my IPad into the cradle and installed it into a Cessna Cardinal aircraft. It works perfect for me and is easily removed from the mounts which were also purchased from GPS City.
