GREAT ARM
Pros: stiff solid mount, Cons: none
I was a little worried about how flexible this would be as I used it for a Xoom, but this arm is really stiff and until you position it (takes some muscle) it does not go anywhere. I Love this arm

JUST RIGHT AMOUNT OF FLEX
Pros: softer flex than the flex rod Cons: none
I tried the 'flex-rod' prior to this and found it to be a bit too stiff. This Flex Arm is much better and just the right amount of softness/stiff for what I needed to mount an iPad in our airplane. I actually ended up using the 18 inch one instead, but this might be better for some applications.

VERSATILITY ENHANCED
Pros: construction Cons: none
I like the flex shaft better than the flex rod. Mounting an iPad has been challenging, in an airplane. This 12 inch shaft was good, but I needed a bit more heighth, so changed to the 18 inch. The flex shaft is solid enough to hold the iPad weight, but also has enough flex to reposition easily. I mounted this shaft solid to the floor with the 90 degree screw-in mount. The sockets work very good also, but are not as solid.
