The RAM-201-B RAM Mount Powder Coated Marine Grade Aluminum Short 2.25 inch Long Double Socket Arm has a socket at either end to allow a 1.5 inch diameter ball accessories to be connected. A tightening screw on the side of the arm enables the sockets to clamp firmly to a RAM 1.5 inch diameter ball. When loosening the side screw, a single spring inside the arm opens the sockets allowing you to pivot the ball and socket connection or completely disconnect the ball from the socket. The arm length is 2.25 inches when measured from socket center to socket center.

Brian Chicago August 12, 2009	SIZE DOES MATTER Pros: size is great Cons: a bit harder to tighten due to the smaller size I purchased this as part for mounting my cell phone holder, but have found the shorter length better for my laptop mount as well, I wish I would have seen this two years ago when I bought my laptop mount instead of the standard size. The only down side to this is the smaller size is a bit harder to tighten up, so I had to reduce the rating, but I would rate it at 4.5. 27 out of 52 viewers found this review helpful.
