The RAM-VB-108-SW1 Custom Vehicle Mount is the perfect laptop accessory for your Ford Truck and SUV. This mobile office mount creates a stable and ergonomic mounting solution for your laptop in your Ford vehicle. If you are looking for more than just a laptop mount, you can also easily connect a cell phone mount, GPS mount, mobile printer mount, PDA mount, screen support and more. The Vehicle Laptop Mount consists of four main parts. The vehicle specific no drill base, a telescoping tele-pole, a double swing arm system with the patented rubber ball and socket system and a Universal Laptop Mount Tough Tray.

No Drill Vehicle Laptop Mount Base:

The No Drill Steel Plate Base (RAM-VB-108) installs quickly and easily to the existing bolts connecting the passengers seat to the vehicle floor. The base plate mounts in the optimum position to maximize the passengers leg space while also creating a sturdy foundation for the RAM telescoping tele-pole.

No Drill Vehicle Laptop Mount Tele-Pole:

The vehicle mount telescoping tele-pole (RAM-VP-TTM8 and RAM-VP-TBF9) has a height range of 12 to 18 inches and is easily adjusted by turning the knob at the top of the post. Once the knob has been tightened, the tele-pole becomes a rigid support for the laptop mount tray.

No Drill Vehicle Laptop Mount Dual Swing Arms:

Connected to the top of the tele-pole is a double swing arm system (RAM-VB-110-1) which includes two six inch long arms joined with a hand adjustable knob. The arms allow easy movement and positioning of the laptop tray for either the driver or the passenger. The laptop tray is connected to the end of the swing arms with a patented rubber ball and socket joint which allows tilting adjustment to the tray as well as shock and vibration isolation.

No Drill Vehicle Laptop Mount Laptop Tough Tray:

The RAM Tough Tray (RAM-234-3) can accommodate any brand of laptop 10 to 16 inches wide laptop (up to a 17 inch screen). The laptop tray is spring loaded and includes four side clamping arms with rubber tips. These side arms are adjustable both vertically and horizontally along the edge of the laptop tray to accommodate the thickness of your laptop while allowing full access to your laptop ports and drives. (see the Side Arm Placement pictures on the RAM Mount Laptop Tray Page) Each edge of the tray has predrilled holes to connect smaller mounting systems like a laptop screen support, power supply holder, GPS mounts, PDA mounts, cell phone mounts or other electronics.

Important Notes:

  • In Ford Excursion Limited, the heater duct prevents access to the inner seat stud. Carpeting will have to be lifted and the heat duct cut and plugged. This will prevent air travel to the passenger side right rear. Air will still flow to the rear via other ducts. If this is unacceptable, the RAM-VBD-101-SW1 Drill Laptop Mount can be used as an alternative.
  • Some vehicle bases may limit seat travel.
  • Laptop shown in the picture is not included.

I find the mount very good. If there is i problem it would be the swing arm could be a little longer. it doesnt reach the driver seat comformable.

Pros: easy to find materials and good shipping
Cons: missing some parts
there was only 1 large machined washer and 1 longer bolt assembly to exchange for the existing 2 bolts to the seat bracket. i had to source another washer- oversized and combined it with a smaller one that was included - this one did not cover the hole of the mount plate and was useless until i put a larger washer underneath it.

The mount was very easy to assemble and install. It is well made and should stand up to many years of use. The standard laptop cradle fit our Toshiba with no problems.
