GREAT MOUNT
Works like a charm. Very secure and better in some ways
than the window mount as "thiefs" look for the tell-tale
window ring when your GPS is even hidden. Easy to secure
unit to base and rubber anti-skid on bottom ensures, unit
doesn't slide around on dash. Likely only good on fairly
flat dash units but works great in my vehicle. I would
highly recommend it.

WORKS GREAT
Pros: leaves no windshield or dash marks.
Cons: hard to store if you have a full console.
Takes the place of window mounts that can notify a thief of
a GPS in the car. Easy to use and dismount.
Purchased one to try and liked the performance. Ordered
three more for grandson, granddaughter, son-in-law.

BEST MOUNT EVER
Pros: easy to use, convienant and work well.
Cons: none
I just purchased my 6th of these mounts. I gave 4 away as
gifts as they were so great in my vehicles. They are
excellent and stay put and elimate the hassle of trying to
get the GPS stuck to the windshield and blocking your
view... I never had any problems with curved dashes, but
you do have to clean them first.

I bought this item for my new TomTom GPS so that I could
move it from vehicle to vehicle. It works great! The unit
stays right where you put it and can be relocated in
seconds if the need arises. Great product as a great
price.

GREAT MOUNT
Pros: very stable, good build quality
Cons: leaves a ring on the dash, the base grabs dust.
This is a great mount. It avoids the ring on the windshield
and you can tweak the position easily. It grabs very well
and it's very stable. I used it with a TOMTOM with
integrated mount and with a RAM mount to hold a small video
camera. Both application worked well. Highly recommended.
It does leave a ring on my dash but I can wipe it off.

Pros: works as advertised.
Cons: works best on a relatively flat surface.
This mount works well, much better than expected. My only
quibble is that it is best suited to a flat dash, and mine
are both curvy. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this mount.

The dashbord mount is inexpensive, effective, and works
well. Base cleans with damp cloth to keep unit adhering to
dash. Tip: do NOT use Armorall on part of dash where this

HAPPY CUSTOMER
Pros: works great
This unit works well. However the bottom will become
contaminated with dirt or dust, after which the dash mount
will slide around. I would liked to have received
directions on how to clean it. As opposed to guessing or
search for the answer on the net. As it turned out a damp
cloth will wipe of the dirt making it as good as new.

MOUNT WORKS WELL.
The mount works well even though the base covers part of the
radio speaker vented outlet. The only downside is its large
diameter - looks too big on my BMW 3 Series dash.

GREAT MOUNT
I found this item fantastic to use. Before I tried using
the original on the windshield and it was forever falling
off and now this one sits there on the dash until *I* take
it off..also very easy to put out of sight when not in use
without leaving a ring on windshield..thank you very much.

Exactly as described and performs flawlessy - really like
the sticky/silicone type no-slip surface on the bottom -
it really stays put - even on significantly sloped front
dashes - I use on a Nissan Altima and a Ford Contour.

FRICTION DASH MOUNT WORKS AS INTENDED
I wanted to move the GPS off the windshield and onto the
dash, moving the GPS lower in the windshield. I used this
friction mount with the Handstands super size sticky pad
purchased from Handstands, which goes on the dash first.
The friction mount does not move. I used the Ram B-Ball
Cone suction base. It also stays in place. Its been in the
car for a month and has not moved at all.

placed somewhere totally out of sight. It places the GPS

changes. This is a good base and an excellent price
compared to others that are out there.This is the best
product I have buy for my GPS. I drive from Québec to
Florida and the super grip does't move at all. I bought 2
for my daughter and my brother in law for chrismas.

Pros: holds gps firmly in place. is easy to remove.
Cons: a bit bulky. need to keep area on dash clean
Really easy to use, just stick the original suction cup
mount on it and place on the dash. Just make sure to wipe
dust off dashboard prior to placing it on the dash. It
provides greater security as there is no tell-tale ring on
the windshield where the mount would normally be and the
unit can be placed somewhere totally out of sight.
It places the GPS closer to you thus making it easier to see

I place mine in a plastic bag when I remove it as the
underside of the base easilly attracts dust.
This is a good base and an excellent price compared to

This mount does everything the promotions say it does and
more. It is virtually unmoveable on the dash. The suction
cup used to release from the window on my van at
inopportune moments. It has never let go of this
mount.These make great roadwarrior gifts.

FRICTION MOUNT
Pros: no suction cups needed...but not perfect!!
Initially seemed to do the job great.
Onlye caution is that because the GPS unit overhangs the
base, the mount tends to move along the dash on my Honda
Accord. It actually walks sufficiently that it fell off
the dash....GPS unit and mount.
Now I watch it and if seems to be walking I reposition the
assembly. No big deal just something to watch for.

Pros: does not move around, stays where placed
It works well for me, I have a Van with a long front window.
Now I don't have to reach to the window and attach the
suction cup of the GPS. All I do is attach the suction cup
to my dashboard mount base and it stays mounted to base.
The GPS unit is easy to see, because it is closer to you.
The mount is excellent and well recommended.

Concept was good, but after some time on the dash, the
suction seemed to fail and the GPS unit flew off the base.

THE BEST !!
this product is amazing works great!!! No more suction cup
marks on the window tuck everything out of sight when you
park. You can easily adjust the screen & it truly does hug
the dashboard. Very happy w/ this product. We bought a
piece of vinyl & cut it to fit the base when not in use.

This mount was used with a Garmin 1390T GPS with no
sliding. We drove 2000 miles in the mountains of Vermont
and New Hampshire with out any problems with this mount. Be
sure you clean the car dash and the silicon base of the
mount with alcohol and remove the paper backing. At $15
this is an exceptional value. The only slight problem I had
was that airport security thought it was necessary to pull
it out of my carry on because it looked like a land mine!

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!
Pros: versatile between vehicles securely holds gps
Cons: not a one!!
We were going to rent a car during our vacation trip and
wanted to bring our Magellan Maestro 4040 with us. But we
didn't know if the vent-mount we have in our Toyota
Highlander would transition successfully to the rental. And
in California, windshield mounts are not legal. We could
have rented a vehicle that included a GPS system, but it
would have cost an additional $60 and I couldn't justify
paying that when we already had one we liked and were
familiar with.
Enter the GPS City Super Grip Dashboard Friction Mount Base!
It worked exactly as pictured in the video our Magellan
mount fit into the base perfectly and when we placed it on
the dash of the rental Kia minivan, the height did not
obscure my vision in the slightest. Best $14.95 I've spent
in a long time!

the Grip is excellent even on slightly sloped / curved dash
surface. If your device is small (like my garmin nuvi 265)
you might want to go with a smaller mount. if your device is
bigger / heavier then this would be a good option.

IMPROVES THE PORTABILITY FACTOR
If I was recommending to my friends a GPS unit purchase, I
would influence the purchase of this mount. It is nicely
weighted and it makes the unit so easy to transfer from
vehicle to vehicle. The nice thing about this mount "it is
not weather sensitive.

BEST MOUNT
Excellent mount.Used with Garmin 855T. Grips well even when
cornering briskly. Works better than the Garmin "bean bag"
mount. This is my second Super Grip mount. The first one is
used with a Garmin 755T by a family member. Both mounts and
the 855T purchased from GPS City.

Fantastic product - my car's dash is very curved and I could
not get the suction cup on my GPS to stick on it anywhere.
Having it in the window was a distraction so this little gem
keeps it on the dash right where I want it. And the service

GREAT AID
I needed a mount base that I could carry to the UK in my
hand luggage, could easily be moved from vehicle to vehicle
and could readily put out of sight in a vehicle to avoid
theft with the CPS unit attached. This product filled the
bill very well and was entirely satisfactory. At the same
time it was about half the price of some competitors while
being smaller and lighter.

Pros: grips super well
Cons: the gps unit won't stay stuck to it.
The dashboard works fine. The problem is the suction cup on
the the GPS itself. It keeps falling off. I don't know
what to do unless I buy a whole new unit. Have you had
similar complaints from other customers. I thought maybe
krazy glue would help but reluctant to use it as it's
permanent and I like the portable part of the GPS. thanks.

places the Garmin much closer to the drive to make minor inputs like detours etc

THE REAL ANSWER FOR GPS MOUNTS.
Pros: best gps mounting system i have had.
Cons: none
Used in three cars including a rental in my first three
weeks. A true godsend of a mount. Sits stationary almost
anywhere on your dash. Initial trials, on the smooth
bottom of a serving tray, showed it remained stable to at
least 60 degrees of tilt. Vibration from rough unpaved
roads did cause minor "creeping" across the dash but not
enough to be a problem. It was however a problem to the
airport x-ray machine....throw it in a separate tray as it
makes your bag "unreadable"

superior mount to any suction cup mount on windshield.
weight is sufficient to minimize slide on any fairly level
dash location. also us in RV on sloping dash: wonderful.
rubberized bottom needs cleaning with wet rag periodically
to maximize resistance and adhesion. esy to store and "no
marks on windshield"! worth every peny!

Cons: a bit large to take on the plane
It took some adjustments to the Garmin base before it would
stick properly to the mount, but once I got it in the right
position, it was fine. Very little movement of the base
while driving. Good value compared to similar products sold
elsewhere. It's somewhat heavy, but it wouldn't work if it
was too light.

EXCELLENT BASE FOR GARMIN NUVI 885T GPS

The mount is not very difficult to assemble, but some
instructions would have been helpful, for instance how do I
keep the base clean, and how to mount the gps unit in the
holder without damaging it. Is it recommended to remove the
unit from the cradle, just some information etc.

It has never moved and we went to Florida and back to
Canada with it. It is a much better idea than using the

This mount is superb. It's heavy and tacky-bottomed enough
to stay where you put it, even on strangely-curved dash
surfaces. And it makes it easy to move the GPS from one
vehicle to another without having to mess with re-
suctioning the suction cup - just move the whole pad.

This is an absolute must for those concerned with
break in and subsequent theft of your GPS unit.
Since my first Garmin I have had the non skid
sand bag and they work fantastic so I was
skeptical when I bought my nuvi and was offered
this generic version but for the price I couldn't
resist. Let me say it is PERFECT especially for
the nuvi because you don't have to purchase the
special arm to mount it. It leaves no tell tale
sign that you have a gps in your vehicle. Easily
transport from vehicle to vehicle. Sits on any
contour dash and will not move. I highly
recommend!!!

Pros: holds on to the dash like a magnet
Not only have used this happily and successfully
for the basemount of my GPS when needed but it
keeps a parking transponder for work perfectly
positioned for "reading" on entry and exit. No
more messy Velcro tape on my dash or windshield!!

Cons: a little large, but neccessary to take the weight
This is simply the easiest base mount possible.
It is almost impossible to tip over, even when 4
wheeling - I have 2 in my PT Cruiser, one for the
radar and one for the GPS, and they work
perfectly!

place even on my contoured dash, and so much
better than sticking it on the windshield. I
sometimes have a problem with the suction cup
coming loose sending my TomTom falling to the
floor. I do wet the suction cup first but
perhaps I am not pushing hard enough on the
suction cup.

Pros: inexpensive, easy to use.
This really works well as it doesn't require the
use of the sucker on the windshield or anywhere
else that might tip off a thief that you have one
in the vehicle. It uses the Garmin sucker to
attach to the base. The base is very stable and I
just hide the whole lot in the glovebox or
armrest. You could put it in the trunk as well.
It was much less expensive than the Garmin one as
well. I bought one for a friend at the same time
and she thinks its great. How to win friends!

Firstly, when I ordered this item, it was
delivered the following day! I wasn't sure if it
would fit my car dash properly, as it has
several rounded mouldings for the
instrumentation, but this unit is so well-made
that it sits up nicely on the contoured dash,
with no movement at all thanks to the non-slip
material on the base, even under heavy braking
and cornering. The beauty of it is that I can
move it between cars so easily, and it brings my
GPS unit closer to hand instead of having to
stretch to the windshield mount. It also makes
it easier to read and hear. I have no hesitation
in recommending the unit to other car-GPS users.

I bought two of these for 2 different vehicles
and am totally satisfied. After having the
suction mount of my Garmin 550 come unstuck from
the windshied several times (in route) I wanted
it on the dash and closer so it was easier to
read. This product worked great and never moved
during a 1500 mile trip last week. The GPS never
became disconnected from the pedestal or the
pedestal from the friction mount base.

SANDBAG FALL SHORT
Pros: one mount for 2 vehicles
Cons: slides not grips on the dashboard
I thought this was a great idea as I have 2
vehicles and moving my GPS back and forth should
now be very simple. Unfortunately this sandbag
mount slides all over the dashboard and is
basically not useable. The Super Grip Friction in
the product description just is not working for
me. So I'm back to the windshield suction cup.
GPS City Canada Comment: When you are using the non-skid friction mount, please make sure you have the white paper material on the bottom removed. This is there to protect the silicon bottom. Without this removed, the mount will slide. You will also have to wipe the silicon clean and your dash clean to avoid any dust. When this is done, the mount will hold like glue. Let us know if this works, thanks!

This holds my Garmin perfectly. It does not
slide or move at all once I set it on my dash.
I have owned it for a month now and it has been
absolutely perfect. The only thing left is to
see if the silicone base holds up over time.

IT WORKS!
I love this thing. I was having trouble keeping
the GPS on the dash. This is the cure. It also
makes it easier to store away when you park. I
slide the whole thing on the floor board.

Pros: price was right!
I bought this for my wife to use with her new
Garmin. I've not used it, real men don't need
GPS to find where they are lost. While my wife
initially didn't see the need for the base, after
using it she really appreciates how easy it is to
use, especially the ability to store out of view
when parked.

GPS BASE MOUNT
Pros: if you can't or don't want to mount to windshield
Cons: large diameter
THis mount worked very well. We have two cars
and it would only work in one of them. Make sure
that you have the 6.5" diameter space required
for it. The GPS never moved once...

ANCHOR!
Your GPS will NOT move around with this. But it is
quite heavy to move, as my elderly parents found out.
also, the construction does not allow it to mold to
the curved dash of their car, but it still does not
slide.

FRICTION MOUNT BASE
I found the base worked quite well. My dash is rather
flat, I don't know if it would work as well if you put
it on a dash with a pronounced slope. It did hold my
GPS without any problem, and I liked the concept. I
have recommended it to other people.

IT WILL GO ANYWHERE
This product is the best thing since sliced bread.
It enables the two of us move it around for the best
viewing without any trouble, and the non slip surface
does just that.

A PLUS FOR TRAVEL
This Friction Mount Base for Suction Cup Mounts is a
very convenient way to mount your GPS device when
using a rental car. The plus side is that the GPS unit
wont leave a tell tale sign on your windshield, by the
suction ring, that you have a GPS unit, and when
parking won't alert the would be thief that your GPS
unit may be "hidden" either in the trunk , glove box
or under the seat. Sturdy built and a nice accessory to
have.

THUMBS UP!
Purchased this one because a similar one had sold out.
This one rode on the dash of the GMC truck from
Canada to Texas and didn't budge or slide a bit.(some
rough roads too!)The bottom side is a gel like rubber
and has lots of grip to keep it from sliding.
Good product. It was also a bit less expensive than
the original one I was looking for.

DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY
Purchased this mount because in California you are not
allowed to use a windshield mount and I did not want to
put an adhesive disk on my dash. The portable mounts I
saw at Best Buy and at other online stores were too
large. This is a small mount and works perfectly. I
highly recommend it.

SUPER GRIP FRICTION MOUNT BASE
EXCELLENT...I mounted my GPS to this base and I can
easily move it from one vehicle to another without
making ugly circles on the windshield. The base does
not move at all during normal driving. It moves
slightly during really large bumps(mostly when
offroading)

GOOD TO DO BUSINESS WITH
