GOOD MOUNT
Cons: cheap release lever This seems to be the standard garmin gps mount for the 705
edge // the mount itself has a cheap release lever that
breaks over time // if you use it often buy two or three
because you'll need them. // this site offers these at a
much more realistic cost then you'll find from garmin.

ORIGNIAL MOUNT
Cons: could be a little sturdier This is the original mount that came with the GPS...........works okay. Be
warned not to tighten the zip ties too much or you can break the base in half.
Then you'll have to buy another : )
Just take your time mounting it. Make sure you can easily snap the GPS unit
on and off before completely tightening.
gpscity has the best price on these!

OEM MOUNT
Pros: inexpensive and readily available Cons: a bit fragile This item is the only good way to mount a Garmin Edge and
makes swapping between bikes, quick and easy.
I did not have trouble breaking the gps mounting tab,
although I agree it seems fragile. I broke the right side
plastic section off the base where the zip ties hold the
base to the stem. I may have tightened the zip ties too
tight. It did not actually break until riding some very
rough roads and the gps was loose but still fastened.

GARMIN EDGE BIKE MOUNT
I purchased two of these mounts for two bikes. The second
time I used it, the tab you press to remove the Garmin
broke off. The plastic is too cheap and rigid for what
they're trying to use it for.
I'll be returning the second one without opening it.

WEAK DESIGN
Pros: only mount available Cons: weak design This is now the 4th Edge bike mount I have purchased. It is very poorly
designed as the plastic tab to release the GPS breaks all the time. If you ride on
paved paths it might be fine, but I've broken 3 riding on trails. Save future
shipping costs and purchase a bunch.

GARMIN EDGE MOUNT
Pros: gps unit is great Cons: mounting bracket is not! I've always been carefull when using the mount, but my
bike came back from a service and locking tab was snapped
off. In fact, I only realised this after the ride.
Fortunately the unit slides on tight and stayed there for
the full 8hr ride. I have many friends with broken
locking tabs. Getting a replacement has been a pain too.

GARMIN EDGE BIKE MOUNT
Pros: intuitive to use. I had several of these mounts already, but needed another
for a new bike so I can easily move my Edge 605 from bike to
bike.
This mount facilitates quick moves of your Edge GPS between
bikes. Simple to attach to your bike, with several options
as to location and orientation. Holds the GPS unit solidly -
no issues through the entire TransRockies.

MY BACKUP CLIP
Pros: ultra tiny, reasonably inexpensive Cons: shouldn't need to buy backup clips I bought this because I've seen many reports about the flimsy mount breaking
and thus I wanted a backup. I'm just being extra careful with the two that came
with the Garmin Edge 705. Push down, gently slide out.

NOT A GOOD DESIGN
Cons: poor design, weak clip handle This was purchased as a replacement for my wife's Edge 305.
It is poorly designed and the clip tends to break after
some use. That said, what choice do we have if we want to
mount the gps?

GARMIN EDGE BIKE MOUNT
Pros: easy to install I bought this mount to replace a broken one this one seems
to be of a sturdier construction than previous models.
This version is much better than the previous versions.
Includes a small rubber adapter that allows you to use the
mount & GPS on really steep stems permitting a decent view
of the screen.

THESE ARE THE NEW ONE-PIECE MOUNTS.
The little release tab on my first one (the one that came
with my 705) broke. Garmin needs to upgrade their mounting
system - although this product works, bumping the tab or not
getting it seated all the way (it doesn't click in, I have
to push the tab up to make sure it's locked) will land your
expensive unit on the ground in a couple of miles (I know
the hard way).

IMPROVED MOUNT
I needed to buy some additional bicycle mounts for
my Edge 305. These seem to be a new and improved
version: the unit clips in/out much easier and has
a reassuring "click" when engaged. I'm even
thinking of buying more to replace my older ones
which just seem a bit clunky compared to this.

EDGE BIKE MOUNT.
Pros: none. Cons: doesnt' hold the oregon 400. I ordered the standard bike mount for the Garmin
Oregon 400. Instead, I was sent this "edge bike
mount". I emailed the discrepancy to GPScity, but
was told it was my problem.
I reviewed the order, the website pic, and noted
they didn't correlate with what I was sent.
Poor service and poor response to my email asking
what to do.
Mark.

EDGE 305 HANDLEBAR MOUNT
Pros: it mounts the edge 305 to a bike handlebar Cons: it breaks too easily too flimsy. I have broken at least 4 of these and
one day, when my brothers broke it cost him a
brand new 705 cause I ran over his 305 with my
bike as soon as it fell off and hit the roadway.
The GPS is TOO valuable to TRUST it to the mount
provided - user beware. besides which for about 2
cents worth of plastic, it is WAY overpriced

FLEMSY BIKE MOUNT
I love the Garmin Edge device, but I find this
mount to be inferior. The mount itself is made
of flimsy plastic. I have already broken two as
the tab to release the device has simply broken
off. It seems as if this mount is a necessary
evil because I'm not aware of any other mounts
that can accommodate the Garming Edge devices.

GARMIN NEEDS TO REDESIGN THESE
I have gone through 5 of these so far and actually lost a 705 when the
mount broke and went into a sludge drainage ditch on a group ride. The
pro peloton run extra zip times around the unit and the stem. Let Garmin
know they need to redesign these mounts.

EDGE MOUNT
The Edge mounts are very poor, either the release tab falls off or
the actual body of the mount splits around the rubber. I've been
through about 6 in 2.5 years.

TAB BREAKS NOT
I do not agree, you are supposed to push the tab NOT PULL. I broke
the "mount" not holder (the part that attaches to the EDGE) with a
fall. It still works very well, but looks bad.

RELEASE TAB BREAKS!
The Garmin Edge is a lovely product, but unfortunately their mount is not! Buy a couple extra, because the little release tab will break sooner than you think.
