UNIT HAS DEFECT

Cons: is unable to be repaired

I bought the gps8 because it was me by garmin. I used it only about 20-25 times in 2 years. This years I tried to download several courses in states other than where I live the LCD scene went blank. after several attemps to correctly download them again and failing, I called Golflogix's customer service and was simply told there was nothing they could do as that unit was unrepairable. I was advised to buy a new gps. The rep.stated they have had this problem before in the past. He admitted I was just out my $350. I will never trust Golflogic again but will purchase my next unit from a competitor.

SIMPLE BUT ACCURATE GPS

Pros: accurate, simple to use, good battery life 36 hole
Cons: bit bulky, some yardage not included on some cours

I bought these two units for friends. I purchased one myself last year and absolutely love it. It gives you a lot of confidence when you know what yardage you are playing. I am a 6 handicap now, wasan9 p[rior to getting the GPS. I would highly recommend unit. It's not as flashy as some of the other GPS on the market but large numbers and simple info is what I was looking for.

GOOD PRODUCT

Cons: see above

I have been using the GPS-8 for about a month. Took a little work to figure out how to use it properly. Find that some distances do not match up with course markings (e.g. sprinkler heads) but am not sue which are accurate.

GREAT GOLF AID

What a great product. My only regret is that I didn't purchase sooner. Very easy to download and user friendly on the course. I have already shown my friends.

EXCELLENT GOLF GPS

Pros: simple easy to read accurate enough.
Cons: on/off switch too easily depressed.

Have used it for about 6 months and apart from 1 course where it was consistently 15 to 20 yards off, it is pretty accurate. I had Golflogix remap that course. Was done in about 2 weeks. At home courses accurate enough compared to sprinkler heads and my friends Shy Caddies. Biggest difference will be 5 yards. Changing batteries a snap during a round, just keep a supply in my golf bag. Recharging would drive me crazy always having to remember to take it home and bring it next time. Mine stays in my locker. 3 rounds is max for batteries. Much cheaper than Sky Caddie and numbers easy to read. On/Off button can be pressed fairly easily leading to a blank screen when you want a yardage. But reboots quickly and remembers the course you are on. Low battery position a bit of a pain as it blocks the front and back yardages. Forces you to change batteries.

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

Pros: ease of use
Cons: inaccuracyfailure of golflogix to return my email

My GPS-8 has on a couple of occasions brought up the wrong course, even a course as far as 200 kms away. By powering off and then on again, the unit corrected itself. It has also started me on the wrong hole of a course, which I had to correct by paging through the holes. My unit is also inaccurate on course yardages and reads about 8 to 10 yards short of actual. Compared with a friend's Skycaddie whose unit was within 1 yard of 150 and 200 yard markers, while my Golflogix was out approximately 10 yards.

GREAT GOLF GPS

Pros: works as advertised!!!!
Cons: none, as it does what the advertising says!!!

Nothing fancy but it does the job. Downloading courses to computer and to unit very easy. Big digits for display of distance to layup points/hazards etc. Finds the course and moves from hole to hole by itself, no button pushing. Course mapping seems to be very accurate (with in a few yards).

GOOD PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY

Pros: very accurate, easy to use and read.

Very easy to load and use. Turned it on at the course and was ready to go. Compared yardage markers on the course, when available, the GPS was right on the money (within 1 yd). Never looked for another sprinkler head the rest of the round.

GOLFLOGIX GPS-8

Pros: simple to use, software very easy ti install and d
Cons: no exact yardage to pin,

I have purchase this item after reviewing many golf GPS. This unit is extremely easy to use. I found the yardage to be very accurate. My first rounds with it were at "Le Diable" at Tremblant which is one of the bext courses in QUebec. I compared to the sprinkler heads and yardage plaques on tee offs and it was bang on( within one yard). I found it actually better than gps on the carts. I's a 9 handicap and using the unit has taken 3-5 strokes off my game just because of the confidence it gives prior to hitting your shot. I would recommend it.

SIMPLE AND ACCURATE GOLF GPS

Easy to use, simple, and durable. I've said it's the neatest toy I've owned in years. Especially good for helping you around courses you don't know. Locked up on me once...re-loaded courses and it never happened again. Overall great product.

GREAT GOLF GPS

Pros: like the ability to measure distance of a shot
Cons: activation instructions ambiguous

Good golf GPS. Easy to use. Distances very accurate to sprinkler yardages at our course. Only problem I have is having to scroll up to first hole instead of automatically being at hole #1 when GPS is activated. Good value for the money.

The GPS is great. Just turn it on when you get to the course and it takes care of the rest. It is very helpful.

GOOD GOLF GPS

Pros: simple to use, appears accurate
Cons: battery life, no view of green

Works very well overall. Would like batteries to last longer, but like fact I can replace during the round. I thought it would find where you are i.e. on which course and which hole. I have to direct it to which course I am playing (like Sky Caddy) and if I am off the 10th I need to scroll through 1 - 10 to get it in place. Seems to agree to Sky Caddy for distances comparing to friend. Really speeds up my play for club selection no looking for sprinkler heads. Distance of last shot useful as long as I remember to start the measuring!

GOF LOGIX GPS

I will have to try it out one more time however on my first try and having a laser range finder to check accuracy, I found the gps inacurate on many occasion and stop using it after 5 holes.on one occasion it read the back of the hole at 152 yards yet the laser gave me150 yard to white pin in middle of the green the laser was right. so I gave up on the gps.I also played in florida with gps on the carts and found them to be inacurate.

BEST GOLF GPS

Pros: easy to read screen with adjustable contrast

This is the best golf GPS available. It shows the distances you need to know and it is easy to operate. The other types on the market show too many things on screen and it gets your mind working and calculating too much. When playing golf it is better keeping it simple.

EASIEST TO USE GOLF GPS

Pros: simplicity, easy to read, accuracy
Cons: case had to ordered from golflogix

My review of the GPS units came down to the Golflogix 8 and the Sky Caddie 5. Although the Golflogix does not provide the pretty picture of the hole, it is easier to use, very accurate, fully waterproof, provides all the information you need for club selection and is over $200 less expensive. In addition, Sky Caddie customer service has a terrible reputation according to reviews on the web.The Golflogix holds 20 courses vs 10 for Sky Caddie. The Golflogix annual membership is also almost 50% less expensive. golf

GOLFLOGIX GPS 8 - GREAT ADDITION TO THE BAG.

Pros: easy to read, intuitive, distances are right on.
Cons: none

OK, I was optimistic. I bought it in early November, expecting to use it through the winter. Actually - both myself and a friend bought one at the same time. As a "west (wet) coaster" - winter golf has been a thing. The snow came. I wrapped it up, put it under the tree...and looked at it again on Dec. 25. Finally - spring thaw - April 5th was the inaugral test. Brilliant tool. Intuitive. Easy to read, big print (no reading glasses needed). The best part is taking the guess work out of the 100 yard and in shots. First time out - I can easily point to 3 strokes where it made the difference. My buddy played as well and his estimate was 4 strokes. The season has started.....and will be alot more fun.

GREAT PRODUCT

Pros: accurate, great database, simple to use, auto find
Cons: none so far

When I recieved the unit, I loaded 38 Golf Courses from their database. Only one course was not available, but within 3 days it was mapped and included in their database.

Used it in Arizona on 4 different golf courses and it was dead accurate.

Love the GolfLogix, which allows unlimited downloads of golf courses around the globe (20,800 or something at last count). I was in England recently and the unit worked extremely accurately. They also seem to keep me informed of any updates to any of the courses I've downloaded. I reported some errors by email and got a response almost immediately by email reply.

As for GPS City - service is great!
