WILL NOT POWER A GARMIN NUVI 255W
I purchased this product to use with my Garmin Nuvi 255W. When I connected the cable to the GPS and the 12 volt system of my vehicle, it puts the GPS into PC mode. It will not power the GPS normally. I had tried a different cable from different supplier and had the same problem. I contacted Garmin to see if they offer a hard wire cable and they do not. So now I have $35 invested in two cables that will not power the GPS. Others stated that this cable would work on this GPS, so Garmin must have made some changes so that after market cables do not work properly.
Cons: will not power a garmin 255w Recommend: NO OPINION

WIRED IN MY F-250 - NO PROBLEM
This cable worked for my Garmin Nuvi 255 without a problem.
The large capacitor in the middle of the cable was slightly irritating, but workable. The wires also required precision to strip/cut as they were smaller than 18 gauge (the smalled my wire strippers go.

GREAT SOURCE OF USGB POWER
Item is as described. I only wish it was water proof. The cable is plenty long enough. Once I tested it for proper operation, I filled the case with silicon, that should take care of the waterproof issue.
I plan to buy more for other places that I need mini USB power.
I did cut off the included fuse, as I was connecting this to a fuse block.

GOOD CABLE
I used this cable to connect my GPS to the accessory outlet on my BMW motorcycle, using a BMW accessory plug installed on the bare end of the cable.
It works great, I had to shorten the bare wire end quite a bit, however the other end - from fuse to mini USB - cannot be trimmed, which is unfortunate for me as that portion is a bit too long for my purpose.

HARD WIRE YOUR GPS TO YOUR SNOWMOBILE
After searching forum after forum about the best method of use for my Nuvi 500 GPS, it seems to be hard wiring it your snowmobile's electrical system so the backlight, hopefully, maintains just a tad of heat to keep it operating properly and not relying on a cold soaked battery/display. This power cable seems to be well made with a heavy outer casing that will help against abrasions to the inner wires. I found the outer casing easy to strip from the wires. I crimped two Ideal male connectors to plug right into my Skidoo REV's accessory plug. I have tried this on my Nuvi with the engine running in all rpm ranges. So far so good, GPS works perfectly.

POWER WIRE
I got this because I wanted to keep my GPS charged up to full in case I let someone else take the lead they could mount the GPS on their bike. One downfall to it is when I plug it into the GPS without a full charge it steals the power from my antenna for my radio and I have to switch to CD

GREAT FOR GARMIN NUVI
I used this on my Garmin 255W and the cable works great. It makes it a stealth install with no visible cables. The right length for my application and a very simple install while keeping my poer outlet free for other uses.
Great buy from GPScity. Super fast shipping & Great Service !
Pros: enough wire, visible led to indicate power. Cons: transformer could be smaller. Recommend: YES

BILSSON BARE WIRE
I installed on an 09 XT250. I mounted it to the tail light as the head light killed the fuse. With the LED on when connected to the battery I did not want it to drain the battery between rides. Would like to have the box part be more water proof and a little smaller. Works good over all.
Pros: worked for my nuvi 500 Cons: wires are hard to separate for install Recommend: YES

WORKS AS ADVERTISED
I am using this cable with my Tom Tom GPS in my '99 Ford Explorer. It's hooked up to the "accessory" switch, so it turns off when key is turned off. Well made. The "box" is a bit bigger than my liking, but it's all hidden behind my dash anyhow.
A very simple way to hardwire your GPS. Quality seems top notch.
Pros: simple, good construction. Cons: heavier gauge wire would be better. Recommend: YES

WORKED WELL ON SUZUKI SV650
Worked great on my 2000 Suzuki SV650. Attached it to spare wires behind headlight which runs through key switch so only on when key is turned on. I did have to cut a small slot in my GPS mounting bracket because of the bend but not a big deal and the GPS is still very secure.

A MUST HAVE FOR A CLEAN NUVI INSTALLATION
After seeing many GPS units mounted on motorcycles using bulky cigarette lighter cord, I wanted a cleaner looking solution. I found it with this product.
I routed the wire neatly into my headlight and tapped auxilliary power from there. No bulky mess of cable, no cigarette lighter plug, just one neatly routed wire to my Garmin Nuvi 260. I connected the black wire to ground, and the red wire to my running light circuit, so the GPS turns off when the key is off. Exactly what I wanted.
Pros: allows a super clean gps install on a motorcycle. Cons: none Recommend: YES

CABLE
Had to go shopping to buy a piece to attach the cable to the battery. Also, tricky to find a way to not have the wire continually hot. Can't use it till I consult with my genius friends.
Pros: compact and length of cable is adequate. Cons: requires purchase of additional items to use. Recommend: YES

GREAT FOR MY NUVI
I use this on my Nuvi 255 and it's great! I can see how it would be backwards for an Oregon, but that's not even a recommended unit for this product. It looks like it's intended for automotive units.
