ZUMO 665

Pros: nav andh music/weather from xm on the bike
Cons: weird routes sometimes, xm a little buggy

Not too bad of a unit. Works as described, and for the most part, all of the early bugs people have complained about have been fixed. I still get some weird behavior at times with XM cutting out, but a reboot of the zumo and my bluetooth helmet headset has fixed it every time (not requiring a full reset that others have said was necessary in the past).

XM reception could be a little better, I have my antenna out in the open (on top of my front brake master cylinder) and rarely see 3 bars (full) signal, typically only 1-2.

Also, the navigation can be a little weird at times. For example, without any avoidances on toll roads or highways set, and with the unit set to 'fastest time' mode, it still had me take the parkway through downtown during rush hour in NJ, rather than staying on the turnpike. I would expect this behavior in 'shortest distance' mode, but not in 'fastest time' mode.

Navweather works well, with the alerts and everything. I thought you were supposed to be able to automatically route around weather, but I haven't found that option if it is there.

GREAT SO FAR!

Pros: functions as promised
Cons: pricey

I purchsed the Zumo665 to replace a TomTom Go720. While I really liked the 720, the Zumo has been great thus far. I plan my trips with Microsoft Streets and Trips and they export to the Zomo flawlessly. I also really enjoy the XM capability and plan to subscribe.

SHORTENS LONG BIKE TRIPS!

Pros: touch screen, ease of use.
Cons: xm signal cuts out.

Just got back from a 4 day, 1000 mile motorcycle trip with the Zumo 665. It's my first time having a radio in my helmet. I love it! The miles just seem to go by. Linked it up to my phone and bluetooth helmet. Listened to XM radio. Got XM Weather information. Called home with the push of a button. My helmet is very insulated and quiet, so it worked great for me. If your helmet makes a lot of noise, you might want to use the headphone jack. The XM signal cut in and out sometimes, but it didn't bother me much. Mostly when I got beside mountains, and out in the boonies. Am wondering why the motorcycle mount has a 2 amp fuse, then the car power cord has a 3 amp.
