GOOD PRODUCT BUT CAN'T PRINT ON BASECAMP
Pros: meets purpose Cons: can't print using basemap - a little dated
Been using the product daily on hikes through northern AZ. Quite good on contour lines and terrain features. Several of the trails are outdated - would be good if one were looking for ancient trails. Street maps are good. Unfortunately I can't print an overlay of the tracks i've made on top of the map using Basemap - the package won't allow it. ( I can only look at the overlay + map) . This is a major disappointment given what is being charged for the product. i would have given it a 4.5 otherwise
[Ed. note: In order to be able to print the map using Basecamp you have to buy the DVD version of the software. The SD card is made to be used mainly on the unit only. We have tested the print function with the DVD and it works fine but with the SD card it will not work.]

QUALITY
Gps City deliver promptly. Garmin information on the card is similar to the old USGS maps with no information updated in my area. I had hoped data had been updated. Some canals, drains, river channel changes have not been updated for more than 20-40 years. I had hoped for more recent information. I am going to look for some outside mapping information to see what is available and count this as a loss.

LOW QUALITY TOPO
Pros: the slow refresh rate may work for hikers Cons: poor data, shaded relief and contour don't align
To be fair I'm used to very good topographic mapping I work in forestry with 1:5000 topo so 1:24,000 was bound to be inferior. As maps go this is low quality and the refresh rate on my Zumo660 is too slow to be usable on the road. The annoying thing is Garmin lists these maps as acessories for the Zumo. Then they don't tell you that microSD maps won't load into Mapsource on your computer only the topo on CD will load into Mapsourse. Contour mapping as a Mapsouce background was my intended use so I was disappointed. Garmin tech support did respond quickly to my query on Mapsource loading.

WONDERFUL PRODUCT !
Pros: detailed, convenient, reasonable price Cons: none
For the first time Garmin is beginning to roll out 24K Topo maps on very convenient microSD cards. ( includes SD card adapter ) No computer needed, just put it in your unit and go. No fuss, no muss !
All I can say is it is about time !
They are starting with the western states and going east. If your state is not covered yet, please be patient. They are all coming.
This is the highest level of mapping detail available for your Garmin unit. They work best on the new Colorado and Oregon series units as you will see see 3-D views and color terrain shading on these units only. Very Nice !!
These are a must have for hikers, geocachers and any outdoor enthusiasts.
Highly recommended !!
