DON'T BUY IT
Cons: reduced power
This pack only allows your radio to send and receive on 2 watts. A far cry from the 5 watts my radio normally has with the stock battery

ALKALINE BATTERY PACK
This pack is a little bulkier than the original battery. It appears to be well made. It works well as advertized, and for the difference in price of a new battery you can buy a lot of alkaline batteries. I would surley recomend it as a replacement. The convience of re-placeable battries when no power is available is un-beatable.

BATTERIE PACK
For me being in the military and needing to use my GPS in the field this battery pack is perfect. It allows me to to have the freedom to run my system and now have to worry about running down the rechargeable battery pack and then without a GPS.

YOUR ONLY CHOICE - AND IT WORKS
Does what it's supposed to do. Can't comment as to longevity as I just got it. If you aren't sure of a means of recharging your GPS while on your travels, then having a battery pack that accepts alkaline batteries should be a no brainer.
I notice it doesn't have the same kind of seal as the primary battery pack. Garmin assures me it is just as waterproof as the unit is with the rechargeable battery that comes with the unit. We shall see...

NO ELECTRICITY FOR RECHARGE....NO PROBLEM
As a hunter in wilderness or National Forest areas there is often no electrical power available to re- charge my GPS. The alkaline battery pack allows me to use good quality AA Alkaline Batteries to continue use of my GPS without having to drive several miles to the nearest town and wait while re-charging.
