GREAT GPS
Pros: looks and feels sturdy. Cons: none
The Garmin Oregon 450 is just what I was looking for, easy to operate and is a great assist on my off road hikes and ATVing! A very durable device, easy to carry and easy to read in sunlight.

CONVENIENT PACKAGE OF GPS PLUS TOPO DVD
Pros: great gps - easy to learn. great price & service Cons: panning across the map inserts unwanted waypoints
I chose the Oregon 450 to replace my elderly Etrex Legend. The Oregon is very easy to use, and I like the topo DVD bundle option. Downloading the maps to the GPS took a bit of figuring out, but the Help feature of the software got me going in the right direction.
I also want to say that GPS City has the best price I have seen, and your Q&A service is excellent. You have some great people working there. I recommend GPS City to anyone who mentions a new GPS.

Pros: the 450 gps is user friendly.
I been having several GPS, this is the most user friendly one I've had so far. I like the touch screen, which is very nice. I do find the screen very hard to see on bright days and to follow your track is very difficult to do while trying to navigate a snowmachine at the same time. I find the power cord not suitable for cold climates, especially in Labrador climate, it becomes very hard and probable break if caution is not taken. I also learn there is not enough instructions how to use the GPS and how to install the TOPO DVD. Although, I didn't have much difficulty in operation the GPS, a little more instructions would prove to be an asset. Overall it is a good navigational system, I like it. I rate it a 4.5 out of 5. If the screen was easer to see on bright days,I would give it a 5.

GREAT GPS
Pros: easy to use, lots of features Cons: map support
This is my third gps and I have not used it a great deal yet, (bought in Nov.) but like it better than the previous 2. The one thing I wish they would do is include better instructions for adding maps. They could also give some hints as to size and speed of micro cards to use. Should not have to look all over the net for support forums, even if they had good user guides would help. I found the manual to be vague in some areas like maps. I am quite pleased with every thing else especially the touch screen. Have not used other higher end gps's so can't compare fairly but would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

GOOD NAV TOOL
Pros: seems reliable and very accurate Cons: screen a little hard to see in very bright light
This was my first handheld GPS but I have considerable knowledge of map reading and compass use. I spent some time learning how to use it and put it to use helping me to find a bison herd in Grasslands National park. Everything has a learning curve and frankly I found the 450 to be pretty straight forward. I was particularly impressed with the wealth of data that I could download onto Google Earth and Garmin Basemap. I have every confidence in it and look forward to my next trek across the prairie.

OREGON 450 WITH CANADA TOPO DVD
Pros: electronic compass. Cons: hard to read the screen in the daylight.
Really like the touch screen feature. It is hard to see in the sunlight. More accurate than my older etrex. The topo map dvd is good, although not always entirely accurate.

HIGH-TECH & HEAVY-DUTY
Pros: touchscreen.solid.quick satellites.battery life Cons: complex, menu too big.brightness, basecamp soft
This GPS is capable to withstand the worst outdoor conditions on a motorcycle. Matched with a RAM mount is it the perfect set. Features are somewhat complex to learn and the interface could be more intuitive... it almost does too much and adds clutter to the menu.Battery life is excellent on rechargeable energizers (full day of riding takes one third of power) Screen could be brighter even at max. Antenna is efficient, GPS gets its satellites very quick.

GOOD GPS
Pros: good for paperless geocaching. Cons: i can't find a way to delete individual geocaches.
I had some difficulty getting my Oregon 450 to work properly but a call to Garmin got me up and running very quickly.
I can delete individual waypoints but I can not find a way to delete individual geocaches. Also, I prefer MapSource for dealing with my points but transferring them from 450 to my computer doesn't seem to be possible.

SLICK UNIT
This unit puts more fun in the great outdoors. Got to agree with a few other reviews that it needs more internal memory but hey you can't have everything. Some reviews said the screen was not that good in sunlight but compared to other units I use it was very good. Would highly recommend the Oregon and GPS CITY rocks. Great to deal with!!
