DISAPPOINTMENT
Pros: it will get you there Cons: who knows how far off route to do it
I cannot begin to express my disappointment in this unit.I,ve been driving for over 30 years but with all the new regs out there I thought I'd get this to avoid getting into truoble for being on the wrong road etc..What a joke! Through trucks have been banned from travelling through Atlanta for as long as I can remember but this thing routes me right through itBattlefield parkway south of Chatanooga has been no trucks through the park for 10 or 15 yrs.,but it'll send ya right through. From Ft.Erie Ontario to Buffalo Ny.(about 5 miles)it will route me through Pt.Huron Mi.,hundreds of miles off route. When it warns of inspection station it will alert me even if it's on the other side of the interstate. Most of the service centres in Ontario come up as "no trucks allowed" when I enter them.It quite often wants to take a extra spin around the block to get to a place too.The sharp curve warnings alerts me of any curve,so that was a waste that was quickly turned off.I could go on about it but bottom line is I'm really disappointed.

GARMIN NUVI 465T
Have not used it fully.so not able to provide proper feedback.
I have read the below reviews and bit concern now. I had purchased the product based on advertised expectations. I drive mostly in Canada. If it doesn't work well for my routs, I'll be very upset for paying the extra money and not able to use for my truck routs..

STOP DRIVING IN CANADA! THATS YOUR PROBLEM!
Pros: excellent product and service for a first gen unit Cons: maps need to be scrutinized more before release.
Seems to me instead of voicing our opions on here we could send the corrections to garmin. Nothing wrong with the units. The maps come from someone else. Nothing is fool proof. Drive the truck and don't expect the gps to do it for you. If it could we would not be driving. It is a tool. Used properly it can be very helpful.

MANY SHORT-COMINGS - NOT ALL AS ADVERTISED!!!
Pros: good car gps Cons: not reliable for trucking
I am a commercial truck driver & recently traded up from the 855 to the 465T with the belief that it would perform better for trucking. All roads off a major hwy pops up the "observe truck route" warning sign. It doesn't acknowledge any weight restricted routes - even though it has an 'input information' for weight & height. I drive a "hazmat" vehicle with "R" permits for U.S. & used it to get to a destination in Montreal. Highway 25 in Montreal has a "no hazmat allowed" tunnel & the 465T mapped me directly through the tunnel!! Obviously, I had to re-route to avoid a hefty fine. It will route you right through roads with "R" permit restrictions. It also doesn't recognize Hwy 405 to Lewiston N.Y. or the QEW to Buffalo as a truck route. If you enter a destination to Syracuse N.Y. from Hamilton,ON, it will give you directions via Kingston, ON to state hwy I-81 south into New York..."7 hrs out of your way"! All bridges into the states through Kingston, Cornwall or Gananoqua are weight & axle limited. The scale information doesn't work in Canada at all & is hit & miss in the U.S. at best. I could go on but if I had a 'take- back' option....I would!! It does work well as a 'car' GPS but is NOT worth the extra money for truck use. I am very disappointed with the advertised expectations. I wish I knew this before wasting the the extra money for nothing.

BEST DUAL CAR/TRUCK GPS FOR ITS PRICE
Pros: rv friendly Cons: no remaining time (only eta) or direction
I Purchased this for use in my motorhome. At 38-feet long plus a toad, and at 12'-8" high, I found my previous (car only) GPS would sometimes allow me to get into difficult detours.

465T IN CANADA
Pros: great in usa Cons: not for use in canada
I think the Gps is probably the best out there in the trucking world but only to drive in USA if your in Canada and buy it no its NOT for Truck drivers in Canada, the Trans Canada Highway from one end to the other is marked not a truck route, its only the largest highway in North America 5000 miles long? and all the 400 series highways are not for trucks, always tries to put you on aa truck route buy sending you into the USA going across Canada to get ou on a road for trucks i switch to car mode in Canada Garmin dont seem to know the head ache to out of Canada and back in with loaded truck

IT NEEDS AN SD CARD...
Pros: none-yet Cons: none-yet
I have not bought the Garmin 465T yet, I am a truck driver and I do need a reliable GPS. I have read about "Cobra, Rand McNally, World Navi Teletype, PC Miller", ect... You get the point (research). They all have been on the market short time and all have bad reviews and problems. I think it is bad to have to insert an SD Card in any GPS system. Why dont they have WiFi and just download from a site? I don't have time to pull off and download updates, I need to be on the move making money not decisions. I see truckstops have over priced all the GPS devices. PC Miller is the worst...it only sells for $126.00 online so why is it $399.00 at truckstops?
My choice is Rand McNally or Garmin 465T. I almost bought the "World Navi teletype", but when I called their customer service to chat about it, the sales rep was a rude bastard. So that told me if you have an issue and need help, you're going to encounter a Freaken Ass that don't give a crap about you as a consumer.
After reading CONS on Garmin 465T, maybe the extra $100.00 for the Rand McNally is the best choice, but it has lock-up problems which my co-driver and I experienced while in PA, NJ, and NY. Places you need info now, not later!
Well, this is just to help those truckers looking for a GPS, I still am researching which to buy.

BEST I'VE TRIED.
Pros: so far,so good. Cons: volume, power cord & dash mount
I've used the 465T for a week now with no real issues. Some of the complaints in reviews I read before I bought it are just a matter of getting to know the controls & functions. Yes there are things I'd have done differently. Like a way to connect an external antenna & a power cord that doesn't look like it belongs on a power drill. Volume really sucks in a truck but I knew 'bout that when I bought it.This could have been fixed easily with a better speaker &/or a speaker jack. Dash mount is crap if you don't want the base permanently glued on your dash. Needs more options there. Bottom line is it will get you there but never start a trip without a motor carriers atlas as a backup. Never had one of those break on me.Be safe Driver.

DON'T BUY GARMIN 465T FOR THE TRUCK MODE
I just returned a Garmin 465T The car mode part is great. BUT the Truck Mode is very bad Garmin should pull them off the market till they fix the truck Routing part of it Which is the NTTS part. There are alot of things wrong with the Truck Mode part of this GPS. The trucking Routing part is so bad you are better off using the car mode when your in a truck

NUVI465T WORKS WELL
Pros: tracks low bridges and tunnels etc Cons: none so far
We use our Nuvi465T in our motorhome. Works great. Updates from Garmin take some time on the internet, but they work well. I would recommend this unit to RVers as well as truckers.

Pros: blue tooth works well Cons: no fm transmitter needs it
The 465T has been outstanding for me as a new person in the industry.it takes the pressure of trying to get around so you can drive instead of looking at maps.

Pros: none Cons: hard to set up!
I purchased one by mail.I used it for about 50k and tehn registered it.After I registered it the screen froze and no matter what garmin suggested I do it has stayed frozen. I de-registered it and tried re=registering but now the computer can't find the device and garmin won't issue a repair notice without registering so I'm left with no alternative but to return it to the dealer.I was hopeing to use it with my RV travelling south starting DEc.1 so Iquess I'll be using my old streetpilot 530.

NUVI 465T
Pros: all the above. Cons: voice volume, says some roads aren't truck routes.
I have only used it for 9500 KM so far and have found it to be pretty good overall. The GPS let's you know about upcoming traffic congestion and weigh scales, which is helpful. The lane assist for upcoming turns is nice and the unit is easy to follow.

NOT QUITE THE ONE YET.
Better than no gps, but this thing would have put me into a 12'5" bridge in Endicott, NY if I had not known better. Also showed me on the next street over in Manhattan, NY. Seems like it needs external antenna.

NUVI 465T
Pros: really easy to use
like the product very much, had to go downtown Montreal and it got me in and out of there no problem, never met any low structures or realy tight turn. Went to the states with it to work like a charm. I like also the traffic up date very useful and the lane assistance. One thing I find wierd is in Canada going down I401 and other highway the not a truck route sign is on ???

SEEMS TO BE MISSING A FEW THINGS.
Pros: relatively inexpensive. truck routing. Cons: no mp3,audible,audio out,not loud, no ws mount.
I want to state up front that I have not used the 465t yet so I am not here to put it down in any way. I came here looking for reviews to read. But I have been eagerly awaiting it's release and recently found out some details that make me less excited about getting one. 1. My 765t plays mp3 music and audio books. I now know that the 465t does not. 2. My 765t is not really loud enough to use the built in speaker in a loud truck. I work around this using the audio out jack patched into my stereo aux in. I have heard from someone who does already own a 465t that it is not loud enough for truck use. And I have read in the specifications that it does not have an audio out jack or FM transmitter. Did they even try this in an actual truck before releasing it? 3. I do not always drive the same truck. With my 765t I simply pop it off the windshield and stick it on the glass in the next truck. The 465t is dash mounted meaning you're expected to glue on a plastic disc and stick it to that. What happens if you change trucks frequently as I do? Again, how could they not think of that? I'm sure there are ways to work around this but I prefer using a windshield mount. Based on the one person I have talked to who has actually used the device, the truck routing seems to work well. He hasn't logged many miles with the device so it's a little soon to tell. I am sure that the added data required to make it a truck routing device was expensive to acquire and incorporate into the device. I believe they decided to leave out a few bells and whistles to keep the cost down to make it more affordable on it's initial release. But many of the things they left out I use everyday and I'm not sure I can live without them. I wish they would come out with a truck routing version of the 7200 with all it's bells and whistles left intact. I would pay whatever price they asked for that device. And how about a truck version of Garmin Mobile PC for the laptop?
