GPS TO FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD

Pros: lane assist
Cons: low volume - mechanical voice - lack of labeling

This GPS unit was OK. For me, it was a disappointment. Volume levels bad - could hardly hear the directions! Voice very mechanical - county comes out as "ouny". This GPS is not for the explorer type. Does not show much around you as far as streets, roads and highways labeling. My 6 year old Garmin Quest II is a much better unit if you want to do more than just follow the line the GPS shows you. I guess if you never had any GPS before to compare to, the Nuvi 2350 would be OK. Back to using the Quest II. Looking at the Montana.

OH... MY ... GOD! FAR BETTER THAN I HOPED! ADDICTD

Pros: traffic avoidance, easy to use, easy to read, etc.
Cons: missing some road info, missing some traffic info.

WOW. I mean WOW. In one week this thing changed how I drive a car! The traffic is a MUST. Brilliant to get steered around accidents, back-ups, etc.

Surprisingly handy even in parts of TOronto that I know quite well. It's taught me a thing or two about driving in the city where I live!

Reliable, easy-to-read, easy to mount, easy to use while driving, easy to pop in a new address. Can't wait to learn more about it. Again: became absolutely ESSENTIAL to my in one week. Can't imagine driving without it.

Unimpressive: doesn't know about a fairly significant road closure near my home, so it wants to take me there, often. And it's getting info about traffic on major streets and highways, but missing some of the bottlenecks that take place on less important roads. The traffic system to be getting more info from us in our cars: all of the Garmins out there could be sending signals, and creating more perfect information about traffic.

Bottom line: LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. WOuld recommend to anyone who has a car, who gets rides in cars, who rents cars, etc. Invaluable.

GARMIN NUVI 2350 MLT

Pros: good navigation and easy to read
Cons: map updates and on screen ads

Like the product compared to the older unit I bought 4 years ago. The map updates are nice but the procedure is onerous. Also you're obliged to install software on your computer that slows down the start up. Rather than updating the existing maps it appears to re-install the entire NA maps every time you update. Best thing is to do it in the evenings when you're not using the computer for other things. The process takes 1-2 hours.

The other thing are the pop up ads for coupons from Best Western and other vendors. This is not something I appreciate.

BEST GPS - FAST DELIVERY

Cons: car adapter very long.

Upgraded from TomTom One since upgrading of map is getting expensive. This garmin has lifetime maps and traffic updates. Had initial problem connecting to computer. FAQS suggested connecting it directly to the computer USB port rather than from a USB hub and works OK. Easy updating maps. Will be using this GPS when I go to LA. LA by-laws prohibit mounting on windshield. A dashboard mount is available from garmin for free but only in the US. Millions of POI.

GREAT BUT WITH ONE PROBLEM

I've used this unit several times and really like it. It works super good. I would would have given it 5 stars but the one problem is with the suction mount. It has a powered mount, and if you use it with a friction mount base, the power cord that plugs in the back, gets in the way and does not allow you to aim the gps straight toward you for a perfect viewing angle. The gps ends up pointing up maybe 15 to 20 degrees, depending on the slope of the dash. Don't know why seemingly no one else has commented on this before, and the rep at GPSCity had never heard of this problem before. But he verified that it's true. A different fiction mount base would not help because the problem is in the suction mount that comes with the gps, and the power cord.

GREAT FOR NAV IN THE US

Pros: read the feature list good bang for the buck
Cons: see the notes in the review.

Took it on a recent 5,000+ KM road trip from Calgary to San Fransisco then up the Oregon coast to Vancouver then back home. The unit was great for managing speed control in the US as our speedometer was not accurate enough for MPH readings. NAV never let us down and even re-routed properly around construction. Canadian speed zones are non-existent though and traffic updates are very rare.

One niggle is that I would like to be able to search for POIs near the destination rather than from the current location. Often we wanted to search in advance for a hotel close to our destination and to be able to phone ahead to reserve.

2350 FOR MOTOR COACH CHARTERS

Pros: dispalys and software, especially like "eco" mode
Cons: maps not especially accurate for rural maritime's

Bought this for use on large motor coach/buses executing charter trips to new-to-me areas of the Maritime's in Atlantic Canada. Worried about the 4.3 inch size, but not an issue with the Garmin OEM suction mount. Visibility excellent both day and night. Software also excellent, especially the speed display (as a check to the on-board speedometer) and the "eco" mode which guides acceleration, braking and steady speed operation. Result is optimized fuel savings Would recommend both this unit and GPS City customer service provided needed guidance to determine the 2350 software better suited my application than a larger 5" unit with less software.

EXCELLENT CAR GPS

Bought this unit recently to replace an older Garmin v+ unit that I will admit has not been used for a long time.

Am loving the new unit, and was delighted to find when I did a recent map update on it that I now have MapSource on my PC as well.

It has proven very useful with a new Meals on Wheels delivery route I have just started.

Screen is nice and bright in the car at times my wife and I break out laughing at the voice instructions.

I am now starting to see the My Trends kick in suggesting where I should be going.

Have seen a few ads so far.

GARMIN 2350

Pros: feel garmin is best after trying other brands.
Cons: no unit offers "optimum" routing.

Overload of foreign language capability.Does not display road you are at bottom of screen on as on previous models, just road at next turn and map does not always display road name alongside road. Cannot plug 12v lead directly into unit but must mount carrier to unit and plug into it. Thus cannot lay flat.

JUST RIGHT

Pros: auto night/day operation, easy to program.
Cons: pop up ads from the traffic system.

I reviewed different makes looking for a model that would stay zoomed out instead of automatically zooming back in after a minute. My research showed that only the Garmin Nuvi models would do that. So I chose the 2350LMT and couldn't be happier. It works as advertised and is less irritating to use than my old Tom Tom One.

GARMIN 2350LMT

Very good overall device for a great price. Instructions are easy to understand. Unit is very user friendly. Well constructed. Screen size is perfect & easy to see. Great mid-priced unit. No excess bells & whistles. Just the right amount of technology incorporated in unit without getting frustrated. GPSCity very good with order, delivery & follow-up.
