If the words ''no installation required'' make you happy, this is the mounting base for you.
This is a bean filled bag with flexible lead inside. The lead allows you to bend each of the 'wings' of the mount so it can wrap around the surface you are placing it on. With a dash mount screwed to the lead, you can attach your StreetPilot, ColorMap, StreetPilot III or Garmin Auto Mount to firmly hold your unit in place while still allowing you to find the perfect viewing angle.
HOW DOES THIS DIFFER FROM THE NON-SKID AUTO FRICTION MOUNT?
This mounting base is identical to the Non-Skid Friction Auto Mount. What makes this package different is that there are two (2) mount converters included with this mounting base.
One of the pieces included, is the clip to convert the base of the GPSMAP 176 Series Marine Mount (included with the unit) to connect to the Auto Dash Base found on the Non- Skid Friction Mounts.
The other piece included allows the GPS II, III and V Series Suction Cup Mount, eTrex Suction Mount, eTrex Marine Mount, eMap Suction Mount and GPS 76 Series Marine Mount to change the bottom section of the mount to the particular units Auto Mount base. The base of this new mount will connect directly to the Non-Skid Friction Mount and a Auto Mount Base.
WHICH NON-SKID FRICTION MOUNT SHOULD I PURCHASE?
If you already own any of the Garmin AUTO mounts or any of the StreetPilot Series , then all you require is the Non-Skid Friction Auto Mount.
If you already own the GPS II, III and V Series Suction Cup Mount, GPS II, III and V Marine Mount, eTrex Suction Mount, eTrex Marine Mount, eMap Suction Mount or GPS 76 Series Marine Mount, then the Non-Skid Friction Marine Mount would be the cheapest alternative.
If you do not have any of the above, then the cheapest alternative would be to purchase the Non-Skid Friction Auto mount and the corresponding Auto Mount for your unit. Click here to see more...
