GREAT MOBILE NAVIGATIONAL GPS SYSTEM
Pros: bright, sharp and accurate map display Cons: possibly the small suction cups to hold the sensor
Although I haven't yet had the opportunity to use this system on any extended trips, I have tested many aspects of it and find that it has flexibility and operates very well. The Mobile PC system software looks much like that of the Garmin Nuvi and although the maps in "City Navigator North America NT 2011 still does not have all the detail of others and still has a lot of older data for Canada, for the most part it is very good. The interface is easy to work with, as anyone who owns a nuvi will attest to and you can easily add your own "Custom POI's and contacts etc. The spoken instructions will provide you with directions without distraction on your journey. I would wholeheartedly recommend this product.

GARMIN MOBILE PC WITH GPS20X
Pros: simple user-friendly screen Cons: software connectivity glitch with outlook
This unit is mounted in a special response emergency vehicle and works well. The screen is uncluttered and intuitive. The gps unit should have a mounting system with it for ease of installation. The software continually tries to connect with Microsoft Outlook with is annoying.

GOOD IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE AN ANTENNA
Pros: easy to use Cons: only works with gps20x antenna
Hi. This product is the third I buy from Garmin to fit on Laptops. I prefer laptop GPS as it is a much bigger screen. It works well. BUT, if you already own a GPS antenna from Garmin (or others but I didn't test) then you don't need this package as Garmin played dumb and locked the previous antennas when you buy the Mobile PC with GPS20x from working. Just buy mobile PC and pay less for the same functionality.

LAPTOP GPS
We went on a 9000 km trip across the western states this summer. I've never used a GPS system before and I had no trouble navigating through both rural and urban routes. Excellent value.

MOBILEPC W/GPS20
Pros: good, accurate and flexible. Cons: short cord, weak audio
Bought this to replace Garmin GPS18USB with City Navigator when I could no longer update the maps in CN. Takes a bit of adjustment but is a good program. Doesn't give as much info on the map screen as CN did and the audio is weak - unusable at highway speeds unless run through sound system. Planning routes across state lines is a little more cumbersome than with CN but is ok. Accuracy is good, viewability of the maps is good and the auto-zoom feature is very handy. I would prefer a longer cable but it seems to work ok with an extension cable. Will work with Win7 on Mac IF you run in full screen or single window mode - crashes frequently if run in unity mode (VMWare Fusion terms, not sure of Parallels equivalents). If you already have a portable computer you can't beat the value - as good as many of the $3-400 units.

GREAT SIMPLE PACKAGE
I have two nav packages loaded on my tablet computer.both run very well the garmin package is great for buzzin ariound town. it really lacks when used on long trips. the delorme package (other loaded package) works much better as along distance nav package. This surprises me as I am a long time user of the garmin products for aircraft.
For any one using the nav package in a state t he garmin is the most clear and simple for that purpose. It is not the package to use for driving across the country.
GPScity once again provided the most outstanding service of the multiple vendors I deal with. fast simple order, very fast shipping ,and great prices. If all vendors were as good there would be a hard choice in which to use, but with the opast performance GPSCITY is the best.

MP 20X
Pros: easy to learn, even for an old guy like me. Cons: could be set up better for use without a mouse.
I have used this now for about a month. I started out with a budget netbook and then traded in for a better one. The graphics are now very good. I have compared this to another very popular laptop GPS software and Garmin is superior. Garmin is much better at the re-routing. My only bitch with both is that the software selects the most obvious route, shorter probably, but not the optimal route. Once I started onto my optimal route Garmin re-routed fairly quickly to the route I intended to take. The other software kept trying to turn me around to start over untill I got to the last part of the route it wanted me to take. I am happy so far, happier as I get more and more used to using Garmin. To learn the instructions I installed the software on my desktop as well and read the instructions on it and practiced on my netbook.

PRETTY GOOD
I have also used iGuidance and Streets and Trips. I was intrigued by all the highly rated garmin products so went with the 20x for my netbook. I expected better graphics and am disappointed. They are just adequate for the area I work in, outskirts of Calgary AB. The graphics for the University campus are poor as well so I expect I'll find other shortcomings. The residential area where I live is very good. I have to keep the Garmin 20X, I don't have a return option otherwise I would be exchanging it. I am exchanging my netbook for a higher quality and slightly bigger one so I am hoping that will improve the brightness. My netbook is difficult to see when it's bright out so I'm considering swapping it, I do have the option.

MOBILE COMPUTER GPS
Pros: good functional layout Cons: occasional software lock up
This product met my expectations in all respects except for the occasional time when the software suddenly ceases to function and has to be closed and reopened. I like the ease of use and the accuracy.

GREAT, BUT BE CAREFUL...
Pros: easy-to-see screens while mobile, even on netbook
The product works fine and the user screens are well done, but - the cable seems too short for easy mobile use (add a USB extension) - the GPS20x is not NMEA format, so to use it with other NMEA programs you have to find and use Garmin's Spanner.exe to translate to NMEA and send it to a "virtual" COM port(s)(neat idea) - if you buy Mobile PC with the GPS20x, you can't use other GPS's (but no unlock key is required) - if you buy Mobile PC without the GPS, NMEA units should work fine (software unlock key is needed?)

GARMIN MOBILE PC WITH GPS 20X
Pros: good gps unit Cons: limiting software
GPS 20x is a good GPS unit. The Mobile PC software leaves something to be desired. It is essentially handheld software on a laptop. The options that were available on n'Route are not in this software. Things like repeat prompt using space-bar, or setting level of prompts are not available in Mobile PC. For n'Route users like myself, this will be a disappointment.

GENERALLY GOOD BUT QUIRKY
The Garmin software is exceptionally easy to use and the GPS receiver works very well, even indoors. The maps are a little out of date and if you drive on roads that the software does not recognize it goes berserk and eventually locks up the computer (Vista). It also has no "pause" option so deviations from the route get you whined at by the software. It needs a Pause and Resume button (F Function key?) that allows you to stop the software and then resume it when you get back to its expected route. It is, however, generally accurate if the do what it wants you to do.

ALMOST
PRO: The GPS 20x Sensor works very well.
CON: Unfortunately, Garmin does not allow "ALL" of their great maps to work with this sensor.
CONCLUSIONS: It's just not worth it to drag a laptop around. I would skip this unit as an all purpose GPS moving map set up for mobile purpose (Car or RV), unless the laptop is a miniature 7" screen type that works on 12 VDC only!
