USE YOUR CEL PHONE CORD INSTEAD
Cord received is not the same as pictured: While clearly marked 'Garmin', it has no ferrite core. Therefore it is no better than any cheap micro-B cel phone cord off the pegboard at our local big-box discounter. In fairness, GPS City is using the same image as the one on Garmin's site.
Funny thing - as Garmin eliminates the ferrite core, EMI lives on. Got buggy data? Check the proximity of your computer, cel phone, 4G dongle or anythine else having a transmitter or superhetrodyne receiver. Then look at your 'core-less' USB cord.

GARNIN SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM
My new Nuvi 2450LM came with a Micro USB cable to connect the GPS to a computer. The enclosed cable was only useable if the unit was connected to a laptop computer since it's only about 14 inches long. They should supply the cable I ordered that is long enough to connect the GPS to a desktop computer which is usually inaccessable with such a short cable, especially if the desktop only has rear USB ports available. The GPS works great and the new longer cable makes it possible to connect to a desktop in most any location. Garmin should stop trying to saave a buck!!!!

WORKS GREAT
Pros: gotta have it. Cons: don't lose the original.
I lost the original one. Needed this cable to D/L updates. Be sure you order the correct one. There are Micro USB and Mini USB cables. The 'mini' plugs into the GPS dash mount. The 'micro' plugs into the GPS itself. Saves you from having to bring the dashboard mount to the PC.
