PROBLEM RESOLVED
Pros: g2 provides the bluechart data plus other features Cons: none so far
As a result of bad advice from Garmin Customer Support I had purchased an SD chip that was totally useless for my application the Canadian Lake of the Woods. I brought my problem to the attention of GPSCity. It offered to accept the return of the chip and to "send me what I really needed". The g2 provides me the navigational information I need.

Pros: good detail Cons: cost is too high, some lakes have no details
The BlueChart g2 HXCA015R has very good detail. But I have noticed that certain certain areas does not render properly, it looks like a problem when the viewing area changes map segments and it is not switching over to another segment properly.
Smaller inland lakes have no water details what so ever.

BLUECHART G2 HXCA015R
Pros: good detail, depth contours, easy navigation Cons: as per review text
Seems to be missing info compared to paper charts In the area of Carmanville, Fogo Island, Musgrave Hr, there are a couple of large rock mounds that are not named but are named on the old & most recent paper charts (Frampton's Rck & Fishing Rck). Love the accompanying fish charts view for finding contours. Have not tried the chip on a chartplotter yet, only PC using HomePort to then load waypoints/tracks onto handheld GPS (60CSX). Cons: A lot of the bays and ports, - at least in the Newfoundland area - are NOT named. Well known rocks & obstructions are only named with a R or symbol but are named on paper charts.

MARINE MAPS
Just purchased this product. Was skeptical because Garmin's online Interactive map doesn't yield same results it did for the old BlueCharts v2008.5 DVD. Took a chance and very pleased to report it shows thee water systems on the Saint John River system including Grand Lake, etc..

BLUECHART G2 HXCA015R
Pros: cheap and detailed compared to the paper charts. Cons: next day delivery took over 10 days
The card seems fine but it arrived after my trip so I couldn't use it. My next day shipping took over 10 days to arrive even though it says 1 or 2 days extra for rural areas. If your outside of a major city you may want to look a little more locally and don't trust that the next day shipping will only take a couple days to arrive.

EASY EASY NAVIGATION
Pros: easy to use software, highly use-configerable Cons: the gps screen itself is smaller than i'd like
I bought my Garmin 76CSX and this microSd card with BlueCharts. Plugged the card into the GPS and presto! Easy navigation. I took off the next morning from Montreal to the 1000 islands for 2 weeks. I loved it! Made my navigating so easy. You can point and navigate to your next destination with such ease without doing any extensive prepatory work. Zoom in and you can navigate around shoals with ease. You should still carry charts with you for the BIG picture planning but the minute-by-minute grind of navigating is gone with a little GPS and Blue Charts. The GPS and the charts are the best gadget purchase I've made in years.

UNFAIR TO THE FISH
Pros: it puts you in control. Cons: the price?
Putting this SD Card into your Garmin GPS lets you navigate the West Coast of BC in a dense fog, troll tricky water with no landmarks visible, get limits of spring salmon, and get home safe and sound on a day when you couldn't have left the dock without it. I did that yesterday. It's a great tool.

EXCELLENT CHARTING
Pros: more coverage, portable between units Cons: can't backup, harder to put charts on the computer
This microSD is a big step up from the CD software I used before. Much easier to use, no mess of numbers and letters to enter to register it etc. I can switch GPS units by simply moving the card. It zooms in much closer before overzoom shows on the screen. I have tried others for Lake Nipissing, but this is the most detailed. Lowrance etc. don't have the details. It's nice to see Garmin becoming more reasonable about chart pricing. On CD, a small portion of the Great Lakes cost as much as this chip.

MARINE CHART USED FOR WEST COAST
Pros: good chart for west coast good help from garmin Cons: lack of canadian tide info, no tides list
Haven't yet used this for kayaking so I don't know yet how it will work for what I bought it for. It appears to have good detail and the same as a friend's Lowrance chart. We will be using it for a trip to Haida G'waii this year & other trips so will review it then. I am disappointed in the lack of areas it is possible to access for Tides, and it only gives a chart of tide times and heights, not the written list whereas the US has both, and also many more areas for Tides and Currents. Then to access the Currents it didn't appear to work so I phoned Garmin and they didn't know but spent an hour figuring out how to make it work - I was impressed with their help.

ONE OF THE BEST MARINE MAPPING

BACKUP FOR CHART PLOTTER
Pros: extraordinary amount of information Cons: little difficult to read the tide charts
Used this with a Garmin 76CSx handheld to track our position along east side of Vancouver Island and serve as a backup for the Raymarine chartplotter on our small boat. It did the job we asked of it and did it well.
