GREAT DATA!
Pros: comprehensive data Cons: none
Drove extensively on the North and South Islands of NZ - the data on the chip was excellent. It helped us find several sites, gas stations and restaurants.

2013 GARMIN AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND
Pros: convenient to have on board Cons: it is a dumb gps map like all of 'em
Map is good but not perfect, like most maps. I was glad to have it. Plug it in and go. But, you need to tell it where in Australia you are since it covers a continent.

THINK PRODUCT IS GOOD
Just purchased Navigator for New Zealand. Didn't use it yet but 2 years ago I purchased navigator for Europe. The GPS accepted the card properly. Guided us through the country for 5 complete days in car. I brought us where we needed. Liked the product

NO MORE FOLD OUT MAPS!
Pros: easy to use, lagre screen, speed limit display Cons: speed limit display not always acurate,
My family spent a month traveling the East Coast of Australia and we used this product to get us where we needed to go. Overall, we were very happy with our purchase. There were a few occasions where the GPS tried to get me to turn the wrong way down a one way street but these occasions were rare. The text to voice option is very handy while driving as the device lets you know verbally as you are approaching your next turn. It was very easy to install the micro SD card into the side of the GPS console. Just slide it into the slot on the side and away you go. No connecting wires to the computer to load it up. It is practically idiot proof. We also switched to pedestrian mode and used the GPS while walking or navigating the transit routes. I would recommend this product to anyone who is planning on driving in Australia.

LANDSCAPE MAPPING
Pros: recalculation flexibility and nav reassurance Cons: traffic optimal track routing
The model is intuitive and user friendly. The Traffic function colour coding is indicative if one watches for the icon colour change but if one is not aware it can lead you into traffic as it pursues the optimal route.
All in all a reassuring assist to driver navigation.

MICROSD AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND CITY NAVIGATOR N
Pros: plug and play it was so surprising Cons: seemed expensive for the simplicity
Plug and play, it worked great. The only warning. Hit the bypass tolls somewhere if you are cheap. Mine said to go left from surfer's Paradice, his said right. We decided he was to cheap to pay the tolls and set it up that way.

GARMIN MICROSD AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND CITY NAVI
Pros: very quick purchase/delivery process, excellent.
Just ordered the map, the delivery and purchased process was excellent, 1 day delivery. Since I am going to Australia in July, I haven't had a chance to use the map yet but was able to have a look at it on the GPS and it seems to be quite detailed. Since I haven't used it in Australia yet I couldn't give a proper rating and this is why I rated at 2 and no opinion.

GARMIN MICROSD AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND NAVIGATOR
Pros: great for isolated locations of b@b's Cons: uses highway names instead of numbers
New Zealand does not have name of streets that are numbers, example, hwy 1 but gps uses name of highway, but there are no signs to verify, can be very confusing.

GARMIN AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND NAVIGATOR NT 2010
Pros: easy use, reasonably accuracy. Cons: often requested turns far ahead of rural corners.
This map set was used extensively during an automobile trip around both the north and the south islands of New Zealand. It was quite accurate in city settings, somewhat less so in the country. That said, it was an invaluable aid to a very successful motor trip. However, as with any GPS map, it is best that one has a good idea (from a paper map) as to where they are going before relying on the GPS as the GPS can take one over some weird and wonderful roads because it being programmed to take the shortest route possible. The shortest road is, at times, not the best road.

ONE BIG PROBLEM
Pros: fairly complete Cons: views all roads as being of equal quality.
The mapping has a significant problem. It doesn't discriminate between narrow trails with impassible roads and four lane motorways. We literally found ourselves being directed to ford a river in our rented Toyota. The maps are fairly complete, however.

AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND NAVIGATION
Pros: works great, mostly up-to-date Cons: installation instructions a bit bulky (cd version)
I moved to Adelaide in August of this year for a year and needed something to assist me in finding my way around. The new Garmin Au & NZ map had just come out so thought I'd give it a try. I have a Nuvi 850. The user interface is a bit bulky and I was told I needed the micro sd chip as I ordered the cd version, which was an added expense. There are several steps from loading onto the computer to selecting the maps you want to down load to the unit. This is a nice feature in that you don't need to download maps of areas that you will never need, only those that you believe will work (saves lots of memory space!). That said, the maps are quite good. I have noticed that they don't pick up the fastest routes or shortest routes if your in the country, does great in the cities though. However if you kind of know where your going, it will recalculate with the route you really wanted. Not all roads are included, even with it zoomed. I haven't been further north than Quorn yet but am very pleased with the performance. I was driving at night and needed petrol (gasoline) and was in an unfamiliar town, selected the gas station tool and it gave me numerous stations and the directions from where I was at currently. I selected one station and was guided directly to it, same with motels. I am planning a trip to Melbourne shortly and am confident that once set, I'll arrive at my destination with no worries. I'll be traveling to New Zealand and am anxious to see how it work there.
