REALLY SOLID FIXED MOUNT FOR GPSMAP 620/640
Pros: solid hardware, good design, holds securely. Cons: no key lock to secure your device
I have 2 of these mounts, one to use my GPSMAP 640 on my sailboat and one on my motorcycle. The sailboat mount is attached to a 4" RAM mount arm, while the bike mount is the shorter RAM arm. The swivel mount part is not needed if you convert to a RAM mount. The swivel portion easily detaches from the power mount holder, allowing you to screw on a RAM- B-347 using the included screws. On the sailboat, the RAM arm is attached to a RAM-B-235U bar attachment on top of the binnacle. On the bike, the short arm is fixed to another B- 347 plate that I mounted to a flat metal part of the fairing. The mount has a very secure latching mechanism that holds the GPS securely whether dealing with bouncy chop or potholes. However, it does not have a key lock, so bring the GPS unit with you when leaving the device unattended. The wires allow you to connect power, sound, and NMEA connections.
