A PROTECTIVE COMER FOR YOUR HANDHELD GPS UNIT

It does the job that it is intended for - expecially in wet weather. However, like all these type of cases, it sometimes steams up and get marked easily. To clean off finger prints etc. I find that the lens cleaner and soft cloth used for (plastic) eye glasses works well.

POORLY STITCHED CASE

Pros: snug fit.
Cons: poor stitching job!

Within days of slipping my Garmin 62s into this case, the stitches started popping loose. The moment I tied a knot and trimmed the string to secure one, the next one goes popping loose. It is very frustrating - at this rate, the entire case should come apart very soon!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Pros: protects the unit.
Cons: just doesn't do it.

The concept is good but overall I do not like it. First, it fits way too tight. You can still work the buttons, but often have to strike them twice or press down real hard to operate (and it’s noisy i.e.: plastic stretching sound). Secondly, the plastic screen does not work well in the cold. Thirdly, the plastic scratches real easy, thus creating a glare. Fourthly, you need to remove the case (and any attachments like the carabiner clip) to get to the batteries. And finally, contrary what you read in other reviews, it is difficult/clumsy to plug in the USB cable/charger into the unit with the case on. Yes, all issues seem minor and can be "put up with", but why? Plus it's a touch expensive in my mind. I have since gone to a screen protective film and a soft sided slip case and find it works so much better.

TIGHT FIT

Pros: protects screen
Cons: makes unit inoperable

Case is a very tight fit, and hard to adjust properly over the controls. It rather gets in the way.

GARMIN GPSMAP 62 SERIES SLIP CASE

Excellent accessory for thorough protection of the receiver! All buttons and functions can be accessed easily through the clear plastic case. I especially like the ability to connect the USB cord without completely removing the case. In fact, the only reason to remove it would be to replace batteries. Great utility and excellent workmanship!

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Cons: not worth the $$

Found the case to be too small (very tight fit) and once in, the velcro tab closure at the top was just closing. The plastic front did protect the screen, but it's stiffness - and tight fit - made the entry of info frustrating because the plastic would interfere with the square entry rocker pad/switch and it was difficult to get the correct letters/numbers without constantly deleting and re-entering data. Also allows NO access to USB or external antenna jacks with case on.

Ended up buying a screen protector for it and now use it without the case which works much better. The case has become just for storage when the GPSr isn't in use.

GARMIN GPSMAP 62 SERIES SLIP CASE

Its a case. Protects the gps. The only thing I don't like about it is you can't use a car charger with the case on the gps. You cannot access the power connector as the case blocks it. Same thing with connecting it to a computer. But it does keep your gps clean if you are caching in the woods. No more sticky screen
