Manufacturer Description |
This low profile remote antenna from Garmin will provide improved satellite coverage for your GPS unit while sitting in a car or other vehicle. It about half the size of a computer mouse, measuring 2.75''L x 2''W x 0.75''H, has 8 feet of cable terminating in a MCX connector and is powered by a low voltage, keeping battery drain to a minimum.
The antenna ships with two mounting options. The magnetic mount is designed for the outside of your vehicle or boat and the suction mount is to hold the antenna in place against the inside of your windshield or window.
This tiny remote antenna provides additional gain to your receiver and, when mounted on the roof of your vehicle, will give you complete 360 degree view of the sky. This will improve the tracking ability of the receiver and the DOP of your position fix.
It is important to note when installing your antenna, that GPS signals do not pass through metal and are attenuated (i.e. degraded) by other materials that may be located between the receiver antenna and the satellite. Due to the GPS satellites constantly moving, they can be located anywhere in the sky at anytime while you are tracking them.

Orders processed and shipped super-fast. Highly recommended Salmon Slayer 1, May 15/12 |
My fourth purchase from gpscity. Previous 3 went great and I expect this one will as well. I do feel rather sheepish though. This last week I've been combing the net for a golf GPS. For some reason this evening the lights went on - gpscity. Thank goodness I remembered you folks. I'll never know what took so long though. Anyway, I got to you and I feel much better now. :) Don Donald L. ON, May 11/12 |
